eve has a pretty big learning curve, but whats going on here, is theres a Player owned station (pos) at a moon, which was attacked and placed under siege by enemys... these guys (including the video taker) are Defending i think. Either way at the start of the video there are cyno jump effects which are the only way enemy capital dreadnaughts can jump in, and the following video is there fight.
apparently this game is hype as idk what, i downloaded it, and im ready to see this, because every vid i see is just a cluttered mess of idk what going on
every video of epic eve battles that i see is a bunch of colored brackets fight each other, having played EVE myself and taken part in large scale fights the only explanations i can think of are A) it's easier to manage the field this way, or B) the amount of lag you get when the heat is on is so intense that you are FUCKED if you zoom in.
They bridged in a capital ship fleet on the enemy capital ship fleet. What followed was a lot of missles, lazers, railguns and middle fingers being flashed through their ships windows. X for cap fleet!
Looks like a complicated game until you actually play it. It's more complicated than your typical MMO, but not as intimidating as you'd think when you first see it..
@Ciris444 I did some research, and each one of those ships are like 200 american each, but 5 in particular are like 5000, so what you are looking at is a very expensive internet spaceship game,lol
@Ciris444 yep titan for is 55 bil isk and if if u were to buy plex to pay for it it would be about 157 plexs or $3140 just for the ship not the blueprint or the fittings.
@Ciris444 well the game is about resources, so the fact that it cost so much is because the game tries to be as real as posible, with logistics etc etc, politics also being a major part in the game
Yeah, I'll just stick to World War II aircraft simulators. This game takes way too much real life time to accomplish anything. The rest of the real world may collapse and the addicts on this game will be oblivious to it. It's no wonder the Russians are absorbed into it. Reminds me too much of an overgrown arcade game. Without the weird music it just looks like a really fancy screen saver.
@NoDakBees it really doesnt considering all the skills train up while you are/arent logged on. Making money and blowing shit up could take some time though depending on your situation

@DaedraAzura scorps can be pretty effective solo pvp ships. plenty of mids for tank (or ecm/ecm bursts), e-war, prop mods, and still slots to spare. damage in the lows, missile launchers in the highs, some neuts, and you have a very effective and very engagable (that is people will be willing to fight you) solo ship.
its also a very survivable ship. doesn't cost much more than a battlecruiser, and if it goes south, just ecm up, or ecm burst, and you're out.

This video turned me off of EVE I mean where are the tactics? all it is is get as close as you can, or far as you can with your guns outranging theres, no formation just a blob of ships and spamming weapons it doesnt seem fun at all.
@spearoflife its a dread brawl. once deployed dreadnoughts is pretty static, the whole "tactic" is to outsmart the enemy to deploy theirs(most fcs will only deploy dreads when they are pretty sure they can win) and then gank them.
@shanont So even less tactics, No captain in their right minds would leave a ship static, It is so much easier to hit a still object than even a slowly plodding one. And in addition they limit it to One mindgame which you described, Also Chokepoints caused by gates, the whole travel and sensor system is just plain bad, it is a gankers paradise, they cant see you coming in but you know where they're coming in and can easily do a simple minded ambush.

To get trown in the game and don't even know what you are doing... Thats what it used to be 4 years ago... Now it is just blob warfare of 400 vs 400 capital ships. During the first months of the Capital introduction absolutely any capital was feared by anyone. Seeing a titan was something special, not to talk about fighting alongside one. Now... You can easily see 3 titans in a minor battle... :(

Perhaps i have a char thats 4 years old in eve, but i tend to agree, eve is for people with too much time on thier hands or to much money to spend to buy ISK. No normal person could have enough time to farm enough isk for a capitol ship and its replacement everytime you lose a cap fight in 0.0..

Thats what you call a Job, something i bet those people dont have lol. The game is only fun if you can afford to play. The average person doesnt have enough time to farm 1 billion isk and them just throw it away. Thats why thier are only a few thousand people in 0.0 and the majority are in empire. Its also why this game will never reach 100k people or more
1B in a day doing what exactly ? I know not mining, and sure as hell not ratting even if the system is -1.0 unless you come across a good officer and not the typical officer with an amazing mod. Maybe in plex's yea if your lucky but i havent had that kind of luck out there, and mining arkonor it took me a week to get 1b.. Maybe 3 days with 2 chars..
you realize you posted this a long time after EVE's subs flew by the 300k mark? I realize not all of those are individuals, but I guarantee you the average number of owned accounts per player isn't 3.
Dominion made 0.0 more accessible, and even after the nullsec nerf, it can still sustain much more than "a few thousand players."
Hell, individual battles often involve over 1200 pilots if they're important enough.

@Redcaster916 its a huge learning curve, just prepare yourself :D the first couple weeks can be hairy, getting ahold of the game, but its beautiful once you see all the mechanics. Its definitely not a game for those that want casual-but it rewards those who think, who plan, it rewards smart gaming.
@euroovca25 - just another lamer swept by the learning curve. its a VERY complex game, take months to really get it down good, not just something u log on and have insta fun at, its almost not even a game. and its made for 15+, anyone under shouldnt be playing, and shouldnt be commenting on the videos of eve.
@biggfishy1 It's a computer game, ofc it's a waste of time. Just cos you can't handle looking at more than a single page of 5 stats like WoW and learning to play doesn't make it gay.

@DaedraAzura scorps can be pretty effective solo pvp ships. plenty of mids for tank (or ecm/ecm bursts), e-war, prop mods, and still slots to spare. damage in the lows, missile launchers in the highs, some neuts, and you have a very effective and very engagable (that is people will be willing to fight you) solo ship.
its also a very survivable ship. doesn't cost much more than a battlecruiser, and if it goes south, just ecm up, or ecm burst, and you're out.
but generrally, yes

This video turned me off of EVE I mean where are the tactics? all it is is get as close as you can, or far as you can with your guns outranging theres, no formation just a blob of ships and spamming weapons it doesnt seem fun at all.

@spearoflife its a dread brawl. once deployed dreadnoughts is pretty static, the whole "tactic" is to outsmart the enemy to deploy theirs(most fcs will only deploy dreads when they are pretty sure they can win) and then gank them.

@shanont So even less tactics, No captain in their right minds would leave a ship static, It is so much easier to hit a still object than even a slowly plodding one. And in addition they limit it to One mindgame which you described, Also Chokepoints caused by gates, the whole travel and sensor system is just plain bad, it is a gankers paradise, they cant see you coming in but you know where they're coming in and can easily do a simple minded ambush.

@DaedraAzura So it's a scam to offer people a 21 day trial instead of a 14 day one, and even give them a 100 million ISK ? It's part of the buddy program... So buying a char is a more legal way? To get trown in the game and don't even know what you are doing... With the ISK, you don't have to wait to buy a ship you want... the fittings... the clone... the insurance if you are blown up.... sigh... I'm trying to help people out, with a trial account and the ISK and even ingame....

Thats what it used to be 4 years ago... Now it is just blob warfare of 400 vs 400 capital ships. During the first months of the Capital introduction absolutely any capital was feared by anyone. Seeing a titan was something special, not to talk about fighting alongside one. Now... You can easily see 3 titans in a minor battle... :(

Perhaps i have a char thats 4 years old in eve, but i tend to agree, eve is for people with too much time on thier hands or to much money to spend to buy ISK. No normal person could have enough time to farm enough isk for a capitol ship and its replacement everytime you lose a cap fight in 0.0..
Found that out after i actually grew up and got a Job unlike most of the people in that game

Thats what you call a Job, something i bet those people dont have lol. The game is only fun if you can afford to play. The average person doesnt have enough time to farm 1 billion isk and them just throw it away. Thats why thier are only a few thousand people in 0.0 and the majority are in empire. Its also why this game will never reach 100k people or more

1B in a day doing what exactly ? I know not mining, and sure as hell not ratting even if the system is -1.0 unless you come across a good officer and not the typical officer with an amazing mod. Maybe in plex's yea if your lucky but i havent had that kind of luck out there, and mining arkonor it took me a week to get 1b.. Maybe 3 days with 2 chars..

you realize you posted this a long time after EVE's subs flew by the 300k mark? I realize not all of those are individuals, but I guarantee you the average number of owned accounts per player isn't 3.
Dominion made 0.0 more accessible, and even after the nullsec nerf, it can still sustain much more than "a few thousand players."
Hell, individual battles often involve over 1200 pilots if they're important enough.

@Redcaster916 its a huge learning curve, just prepare yourself :D the first couple weeks can be hairy, getting ahold of the game, but its beautiful once you see all the mechanics. Its definitely not a game for those that want casual-but it rewards those who think, who plan, it rewards smart gaming.

@euroovca25 - just another lamer swept by the learning curve. its a VERY complex game, take months to really get it down good, not just something u log on and have insta fun at, its almost not even a game. and its made for 15+, anyone under shouldnt be playing, and shouldnt be commenting on the videos of eve.
