Sandman Film School: Circular Polarizing Filter

I would have thought the linear polarisation lens would block window reflections not a circular polarisation lens.

I once used polfilters - than threw them away "There should be no glass between the object, the lense and the sensor". Now I use them again, coz they make sense.

What is the different uses of a circular polarizer and a linear polarizer? I assume the both have a ring that allows you to turn them. Which one did you use in your video?

@lipstermansfield The linear one will render the metering (exposition etc) of you camera inoperative (and the autofocus too). I use a circular polarizing filter so the camera works as if no filter was on.

I use the filter all the time to reduce the glare of products I'm reviewing, or to cut glare from glasses. And for outdoor use as you stated, because the sky just looks so much better. It's also great around water. I'm one of the few people that actually use filters on video cameras. hopefully you cover ND soon
