i was in Sweden in june 2004 he was playing there -- with group from sweden and said this is it -- texas swing -- went in spent the whole nite with band.....
There's a new group on facebook called "The Unofficial Gary Primich Fan Group": a great platform where people are sharing stories, pics and what have you... Please take a look, join and spread the word so we can keep the memory of this excellent musician and wonderful man alive! Thanks in advance. wannes
One of -the- cats, (great tone & riffs a given): He never had to lean on the rhythm section to catch a groove, begin a line, or find the change. A leader in the truest sense: If you got a bit lost, you could find your place in Gary's strong playing. This is a rarer virtue than a casual listener might realize.
I took lessons from Gary back in the early 80's when he was thin, had a head full of hair and ambition like you wouldn't believe. Great guy and really showed me the most important parts of playing harp. Rest in peace Gary we miss you.
Truely a harp playing musicians musician, in every sense of the phrase. I was fortunate enough to see Gary in 1991 during his first cd's tour in Norman, Okla. at Liberty D's club. Easily in the top 5 harp players of all time. Long may his legacy never wane.
I saw Gary at Johnny D's in Somerville Ma. years ago & have been trying to sound like him ever since....he accomplished so much in this dusty little world...Dig that crazy beat!
It's been several months and I still miss him. To know him was to know a very charming fellow. I'm so glad I got him to autograph the CD's we own. It's just so hard to believe you are gone.
Ive heard just about every great player in the planet, Gary has swing to die for in his solos!!!His solos are ULTRA tasteful and groovy!!!

Gary & Nick are always GREAT! Reminds me of the days I saw Robben & Mark Ford with the legendary Paul Durket around Santa Clara county!
Keep playing the blues Baby!
