    it is not a bad design...put an DC2 Integra Type R against your 328 on track and see what happens..the tegg will put that 328 to shame in accerelation och handling with ease....two wheels can provide power and steering without any problems at all if you are a decent driver

  • The E36 M3 has only 2 pipes at the end. The E46 starts with 4 pipes! I think a genuine M3. The 3.0 l has about 280 bhp en the 3.2 l has 321 bhp. I owned a 321 bhp version M3. Very nice...

    2)You're right about the need for torque for low revs & high gears as those factors are also involved in acceleration.

  • 1)Yes but without significant TQ, there is no significant performance or acceleration.

    2)Believe it or not, stock Volvos KILL modded Hondas on the street. Trust me, TQ is significant no matter what application is used. This is why Hondas are slower than pretty much everyone else when un-modified.

  • 1)LOL! I own a Subaru Legacy & a Volvo 850 GLT. They will be sleepers in their own right when the time comes.

    2)Volvo V70-T5Rs come w/240hp/250ft-lbs stock. They are pretty quick. 850-T5Rs come w/240hp/240ft-lbs. Both use the same B5234T motor but used differently tuned ECUs. 850 Turbos-T5s (222hp) use the same motor but the ECU is tuned to put out even lower boost. W/these cars, all you need is a chip tune & an exhaust & you're @ 300whp. The intake does not need to be modified like most cars.

  • .1:Yes, going faster in a straight line is fun....for about 30 seconds before it gets boring. Having no TQ means that they are not fun to drive. I should know. I've driven a Civic Si for a month & HATED it's lack of power.

    2:Throw 10K at a Civic then do the same to an Impreza. Even though they'll both be monsters, the difference between them will be vast. It's okay if you like Hondas but you gotta know what's superior to it, just as a Ferrari is superior to a Subaru.

  • 1:I know what power to weight ratio is. I own a fairly light car for it's brand. TQ is still important on & off the track. CRXs are light & have a platform setup for sporty handling to make up for it's lack of power.

    2:I get the concept of a CRX but there is so much you can do with a car that small. At some point, safety & stability will have to be paid attention to & the CRX has neither. I should know, I've driven a CRX many times.

  • @akabane1984 Safety! What a roll cage cant get you safely down the track and some upper strut bars? Maybe even bigger brakes? How much more safe can you be. TQ when it comes to small CRX with the little TQ it has and its small and tight gearing on the YS1 you dont need all that TQ to move those cars. I know I have two of them. I also have an 88 Supra with the 1JZ so I know about rear and front. Rears are fun to drive and all of that but its different.

  • 1:I'm talking about stock but even with a roll cage, you're still limited to what you can do in a FWD car, which is why people usually own more than 1 car for different purposes. Even you have to admit that there are certain things the Supra can do that the CRX can't. Not saying that it's bad because hell, a CRX>Civic many times over.

    2:YS1? I'm guessing you have a B16A Si. NOW you're talking about a good car. I was referring to the SOHCs that everyone keeps hyping up. Should have been clear.

  • @akabane1984 Yeah I own the two CRXs one has the b16A SI YS1 with the higher Comp ratios and the very tight transmission and LSD it puts out 158 to the wheel and can pull 14.2 on the big 17 inch wheels I have. The other is my daily driver 1.5 liter SOHC. Its slow but still fun to drive. The B16A though can rip thru the 1/4 miles nicely though. The Sup is about a bit faster but not by much.

    Nice try but you're comparing one of Honda's weaker engines that comes from a CRV which is non VTEC but still comparable or better than the engines you mentioned above.

    B20 (146bhp/133tq)

    EJ22 (142bhp/149tq) Not that impressive considering it has 200cc's more than the B20. Larger displacement helps the torque though.

    SR20(140bhp/~130tq) Comparable but B20 still has slightly more peek hp similar torque.

    I wont even mention B16/B18 Type R, K20, H22, F20/22C

  • It isn't about the the level of power, it's how EARLY the power comes on. That's what determines acceleration. Here's an N/A for you.

    EJ20-190 bhp @ 6000rpm:190lb·ft@3800rpm.

    Bring up the Type R. It funny how you think that hp is everything when Honda fans have to resort to swapping in & combining the B20 bottom end with other B heads for more torque. The reason why nobody likes Honda motors is because of their severe lack of torque, even @ high rpm.

  • There's no way an EJ20 N/A (JDM spec or not) will make 190 lb/ft of torque even with variable valve timing. Even it's big brother EJ25 with larger displacement only tops around 170 lb/ft. Unless somehow it's diesel, boosted, or stroked. Don't confuse between torque and n/m (newton meters) numbers. 190 n/m = 140 lb/ft of torque. Subaru's should stick with turbo.

  • The JDM N/A EJ20 makes 190hp-190lb-ft. You don't know what you're talking about. Look it up for your self. I know the difference between newton metres & torque. I'm not an idiot. Like I said before, it's not about how much power is being made but how early it comes on. No Honda engine can compete with Subaru in terms of power delivery. In other words, you don't need to rev an EJ to get power out of it. You need to rev a B or a K motor for any kind of response. That's why EJ>K or B motor.

  • An N/A EJ will have it's torque available @ a much lower rpm than a B or K motor ever will.

    Btw EJ254 N/A: 175hp-195lb-ft. Hondas don't even come CLOSE to the power delivery or efficiency to an EJ N/A. Horsepower isn't everything. Torque is what gets you off the line & around a track.

    Third, You've got it ALL wrong. Most boosted Subaru OWN boosted Hondas & it's all over YouTube. Don't get me wrong, Honda is a great car but it's GREATLY overrated.

    Fourth, no Honda motor can match a Subaru motor in efficiency & power delivery.

    As for the BMW being a better quality car, it depends. My Honda is probably more luxurious than the BMW in the video, as it is a '08 model whereas the BMW in the video is like 1995 w/ ricer headlights and taillights.

    Oh, and if you want comfy seats, you should've gotten a Mercedes Benz, not a BMW.

  • Problem with the CRX is 1st gear is short and sloppy... 2nd gear and BANG it goes like SOAS!!

    the M3 'only' has 285hp (3.0 version) or 320hp (3.2 version)

    CRX has only 130hp and is only fast the first couple of meters, cuz it weights as much as a ream of rice paper, above 100kmh it's nothing...

  • CRX with vtec ~ 150hp(in EU)and ~ 950-1000kg

  • this is no VTEC CRX...it´s a ED9 with 124hp as standard ..this one is modded to about 145hp and weight in at 920kg
