...thiss creation is the most beautiful jazz song i've everr heard before. I always cry when listen your saxo Coleman. Coleman is the best saxophonist of all time, and his music is magical like a stardust... Hoagy Carmichael, you've written the best song in the history of jazz.... We alwayss love iu for everr and everr!!
I posted the dislike. If you look at my user name you will see why.LOL I think this is a great version but I have always thought it plays better on the Alto.
Bean was awesome. He was always in the fore front, from '20s with his slap tongue style (who else played tenor then?), to the bop '40s, to his far-out record with Sonny Rollins.
i envy you, if i knew where you live i would steal your colection :(. It's a shame my grandma sold all my grandpa LP's before i had any interest in jazz.
I think that this is my favorire C.Hawkins number. I first heard this actual recording & a few others from the same session in about 1953. it changed my taste in jazz completly! THANKs pete U.K.

Never knew that these three played together, not surprising that Bean spent so many years in France. Thank you so much for posting this video.

The word 'classic' has been much misused in this cheap and tawdry Madison Avenue culture but, man oh man, this is truly the cats meow. Thanks

Stephan Grappeli played piano? I didn't know...a great performance by all.

Why does it matter if someone disliked it? You like it, I like it, he doesn't, that's all there is to it.

@Altosax50 not liking a song because it isn't on alto is very very childish.

@Altosax50 You contradict yourself: If tis is a GREAT VERSION, how can you dislilike it? That you prefer it`s better in alto is another matter.

Great to hear Grappelli play piano, BTW.

Those who appreciate this rendition will also find Don Byas' excellent version of interest as well.
