This speech is so full of inflated asskissing it's sickening. It's one thing to say good things about your host, but Obama is behaving like a car salesman, covering up all the bad parts so he could fool a buyer and steal their money. And the students are lapping it up. A few charming Indonesian words and everybody was mesmerized. 20 years ago, UI students would have not responded so uncritically to a US President. The students were so excited to hear "pulang kampung, nih" & from that point they believed everything he said. He talked about a peaceful transfer of power in Indonesia. When did that ever happen? In 1965? 1998? Etc. Diplomacy acknowledges the good points in your opponents. What he did in his speech was bending truth.
