  • I just put the comp pipe on my fat bob and I think it's the best sounding pipe i've ever heard but I would like to hear someones bike with the quiet baffle installed . anybody out there.

  • Hi, i've bought this exhaust for my 2008 vrscdx. I download the designed map but in PCIII desk i can read:

    2002 Harley V-Rod

    VHM Indy Series Exhaust

    VHM Air Filter

    Advanced Tune Map

    Stock ECM

2002???? is this map the good map?

    Thank you!

  • Is this WITH the baffles? if so, it sounds like what I want but I have heard some videos where it is CRAZY loud and I dont like THAT much noise

  • I currently have the V&H Hines 2 into 1 and I am thinking about upgrading to the stainless version of the Competition Exhaust. One of my concerns is that it might be too loud for long trips. Can anybody comment on this?

  • @traviswcurtis i wouldnt. i love my vance and hines 2 into 1 system on my 2010 night rod but im bloody pissed off with the heat stain on the stainless makes it look $2. sounds like a million $ thou.

  • Just ordered the competition series. Was wondering if you can remove the baffle and if so would it have to be remapped.

  • The V-Rod application has heat guards designed to protect components of the motorcycle. The system is not equipped with full length heat shields like most of our exhaust systems due to it being a race application.

  • The Competition Series 2-1 was originally designed for the drag strip, it still does allow adequate cornering clearance for normal riding conditions. The system does not have heat shields, and potentially can get warm on your leg, though we do not get many complaints about it.

  • @vanceandhines

I am confused as per your description above...

    - Redesigned heat shield for both front and rear controls.

    - Front head pipe stand-off to eliminate contact with the oil line.

If there were no issues why you guys change it?

  • @vanceandhines I would not buy this system. You can NOT turn on your right. I noticed that I've started to scrape my pipe and it will soon need to be replaced. If all you are doing is going straight then i guess why not, but if you want to turn a little don't go for it.

  • I know there are a lot of comments about this pipe having issues, but I really like it and would love to get it for my 09 DX. I have a few Q.

Any issues with the heat burning your leg or any other parts?

    Ground clearance ?

  • what fuel computer is the best with this set up

  • I put these exact pipes on my 2010 night rod., very difficult fit, needed to cut the exhaust gaskets down to fit.. and the pipes were really hard to get together... would HIGHLY recommend you have your Harley dealer put them on.... should take 4 hours, with few calls to V&H,also, you will have to re-map the fuel and Harley nor V&H will give you the data... since they are not "street legal" pipes. to do it absolutely right you should install a Super Tuner and then put engine on Dyno to remap fuel

  • I put the same pipes on my 07 night rod but mine are arent the black one like this but same sound..All my harley buddies say they like the sound as well..I was going with the toxic turbine but ended up changing my mind and going with the vance competion series..Youll be happy with them

  • Sorry we don't have any riding video of this bike, but you won't be disappointed with quality of the sound you get from this exhaust. We also have an optional quiet baffle if you want to tone it down.

  • Sweet bike...i'm considering the same exhaust but still not completely sold..any chance you could upload a video of the bike going thru a few gears?
