  • Green is life! XD

  • Awesome video! Thanks for sharing! I Love The celtic music♥

  • for some reason i love to play this song while i'm playing Skyrim

  • is this the song in baldurs gate in the tavern

  • @Ninjawithaplan no but i sounds alot like this.

  • I am enchanted, enthralled, enraptured... I am an en- word I don't even know! :)

  • Someone explain to me how this is Celtic. To start, this is an English tune from the late 16th century.

  • @Gustaveleloup I totally agree on that sentence. This is not even plain english style, it is based on the Italian "romanescas", pretty much like sonnatas. Although it may seem Celtic due to the use of guitar, it isn't. Beautiful version though. =)

Adorei !

  • Absolutely beautiful. I sang this song for my winter concert. Astounded.

  • I will love this song till the apocalypse

  • Justice!

  • I just picture in my mind lord of the rings woods

  • @MontajeleCRB Hear this.

When I went in scotland last summer i stopped by for three nights in a wonderful hotel in Poolewe (very north of the scotland). So we are in Celts lands. The owners of this hotel told me (I'm a composer) that some years ago anther composer stood there for a couple of moths because he had to "find inspiration". They said he made the soundtrack of a movie... guess what?? The Lord of the Rings!

  • @ManueleLaPuca Good story! imagine walking trough the woods listening at this song ,watching sun trough the tall tree leaves... amazing.

  • @ManueleLaPuca That's so cool. Tell me when you produce your next piece. It's bound to be a powerful song.

  • @myabcdefg45 I have composed two epic musicals, i've got a trailer of one of them in my channel! ;)

Once I'll have a production like the LOTR one and an orchestra it will sound better! :D

  • Best video in youtube!

After this music, I felling something good, and I will listen to read my medieval book's, will be great!

  • Hallo can you tell me plz !! where can i get the painitings in the vids?

  • Jeez - could we have tuned the instruments?

  • @Missouramule You're gay. That wasn't funny in the slightest. You sound like a fuckwit

  • @slayer1234567891 Slayer, slayer -- a 'fuckwit'? I'll have to look that up - you never know, I might be one . . . but all I really want is a little intonation in the music I listen to - you know, for the instruments to be "in tune"? Maybe it's just a gay thing.

  • Finally! I've been looking for the title of this song for years. I can't believe I found it because of a Homer Simpson video-clip.

  • @dinsting

Can't believe you didn't find the name in years XD

  • @JohnnyLeyenda Well, it's no like I just write "medieval tune" or "old english song" and this song just pops out, lots of other songs appear in each search. Finding it wasn't a priority anyway, I'm just glad I know the name now, end of the story.

  • hmm, found something epic :D

  • ^^T^^

  • This is really nice but the Judd's do a better version and I loathe country.

  • @rjl408

dont mean to be rude, but this isnt really country per se... country sucks. this is good, big difference.

  • the celtic one sounds amazing too :D!

  • @thepiedjester My misunderstanding, I thought you were talking bout modern Britons instead of their ancient ancestors, yes you are right in that case.

  • @thepiedjester (wiki "British people") I'd counter that it's much more complex than that....but we'd be here for days discussing the ancestry of the British :P

  • When I used to watch videos like this, I would have a troupe of minstrels to serenade me.

  • @thepiedjester You'd have to argue that, the Scots, Welsh and Irish are. Britons as we know them are more descended from the Anglos and Saxons.

  • Hermosa!!!

  • Кто автор этой мелодии? И когда она написана?

  • @MsOlgeya наберитье на википедии "зелёные рукава", там вся инфо

  • her sleeves are green

  • Andrès Segovia, Jeff Beck and Ritchie Blackmore do it better!!! :P

    ^^

  • Probably a Tin Whistle actually

  • This would move any heart. no matter how hard, of stone, iron of steel it may be.. It certainly moved mine.. wonderful!

  • Folks.

    wikipedia>greensleaves

However, Henry did not compose "Greensleeves", which is probably Elizabethan in origin and is based on an Italian style of composition that did not reach England until after his death.

  • @Klompeti

    wow...n i would think I am smart

  • Muito linda. Amei a gravura.

  • what's the name of the painting and painter ?

  • @marvinmixtape My Lady Greensleeves - Dante Gabriel Rossetti

  • Umm.. so what exactly is Celtic about this? It's nice and all, but neither is the song from a "Celtic" culture nor are the instruments exclusively "Celtic".

  • OH NO!!!

I just wanted to give this awesome song a thump up and ACCIDENTLY hit the dislike button!

I am REALLY sorry about that mistake. Great song!!

  • Sorry, but am I the only one who thinks the flute sounds... off?? Especially in the high and low range.

  • @RaelWander .....Yes you are the only one....there's nothing off on this tune.

  • @RaelWander It's a piccolo....it's naturally higher in sound

  • omg I think this is the most beautiful version of greensleeves I've heard ! :)

  • it is not celtic its english, the celts dont exist becase they all have become seperate cultres, and that hapend about 900 or 800 ad. and this was composed in 1510 by king Henry the 8

  • @Awesomeman5870 It's only a myth the Henry the VIII wrote this song. It was actually in existence way before his time.

  • @superallynumber1 ok if you think so,who made it then

  • @superallynumber1 Actually, it wasn't in existence until a little after his time.

  • we have to sing this song in Music Class, it's pretty good... but sad. haha

  • omg so celtic ^^ so beautiful

  • I absolutely LOVE this song!!!

  • Very beautiful, thanks for posting. Greensleeves is my favorite of all time english songs.

  • @beckerqueiroz These are green sleeves! I shall play better!
