i have to agree! what a great song, I am currently teaching my kids this but we have changed the lyrics to make it more international. " From south Korea to Vancouver island, from the amazon rain forest to the great Nile river..." the kids love it!

When I was child in public school I would sing this song. When they played the Lord's prayer and national anthem over the PA system in the public school I would stand so proud.Canada for me was growing up on a farm and the love for our small community. Today in all honesty I do not feel that same pride that I did when growing up.Canada has changed and as far as I'm concerned not for the better.

and as for this land is your land? it makes good music when you're doing a math test and want something to sooth the class
and everyone joins along. :)
i just say all the other songs are sung from grade 6 and lower.

A song of gentle affirmation that Canada is an outstanding state of mind & incredible domain! Bigger than the US in more ways than land geographic size; cost of living, standard of living, medical care, education, crime rate statistics. For example: Houston Texas(4 mil populace) averages 300 murders a year (FBI stats); where as Montreal (a city of comparable population density)...7. That's it & most probably due to domestic disturbances. Are you safer walking the streets of Montreal or Houston?

@Xenoclaw well there is nothing wrong with liking the fact that USA and Canada dont go to war like other countries. i am pretty sure that most people go to USA for vacation, most have family in the USA. you dont really have to like them, but dont be so up tight about the fact that people are standing up for the people.

When I was child in public school I would sing this song. When they played the Lord's prayer and national anthem over the PA system in the public school I would stand so proud.Canada for me was growing up on a farm and the love for our small community. Today in all honesty I do not feel that same pride that I did when growing up.Canada has changed and as far as I'm concerned not for the better.

Nice thought / too bad we are all mostly sitting around fighting with each other while our country has been sold down the tube form coast to coast.. The days when this song reflected reality are long gone, that is for those of us who have experienced the painful truth and no longer live in dreamland. Society is a verry sick puppy indeed !
