@MrBendix0 - it's not my video -- it's ESO's. If you scroll to the bottom of the text description, you'll find the full credits to use and a link to download the high resolution original from ESO's website. Cheers!
LOL... thanks! Do a search on my channel, and you'll find a few dozen nebula visualizations or animations -- most of them will be in 720p or 1080p. I have a media server hooked up to my entertainment system, and these videos look real sweet on a big screen.
Oh, it is a montage -- the galaxy photo to start with is itself a montage of photographs of the sky taken from all over the world, and the video zooms into the ESO image of the Cat's Paw Nebula. Check out ESO's web site for more info on the galaxy panorama and other similar videos: eso [dot] org
Sorry you think so... I invite you to click on the "MORE INFO" link and scroll down to the end of the text, where you can click a text link to the European Southern Observatory's website and read about the history of the nebula and look at the beautiful photos of this object and others taken by the telescopes down in Paranal, Chile. Cheers!
All of space and time in our universe was created at the "Big Bang" (really a misnomer) 13.7 billion years ago. Since time did not exist before the Big Bang (at least in the way we understand it), it's hard to describe why and how the it happened. One idea is that there are membranes floating around in a gigantic multi-dimensional "bulk" -- now and then, these 'branes' collide, and where and when they do, universes are created -- so our entire universe is basically the edge of a soap bubble.
True, but even if we did grow up in a dusty neighborhood, our technology would have eventually evolved with telescopes sensitive to all wavelengths of light (just as we have now). Still, even with our current position in the galaxy, the galactic center blocks our view of that part of the universe.
ya, but eventually (millions of years?) the galaxy would have spun enough for us to see the rest of the universe but hopefully by then, we'll be travelling through the universe '-))
In the grand scheme of things, we are all each pretty insignificant, but think of it this way, if the Universe didn't come into existence 13.7 billion years ago, YOU wouldn't be here. :) Even if we're all just a bunch of walking biological collections of chemical reactions, we're all still a part of the universe and wouldn't be here without it. Cheers!

Are you sure this is not some After Effects montage? IT looks too perfect... Beautiful, thought provoking.
Thanks!

How was space created, and why doe it exist?
marclert1204 2 years ago
Well, that is a very good question, the bad part is that no one has figured it out yet.

we are so lucky we don't live in a solar system that is surrounded by too much dust or we would not be able to see anything from the universe.
