  • god, I just love their curiosity! and whale watching is better than aquariums because the animals can come and go as they please; because they are WILD and FREE. When you go whale watching your put in a boat, and you find the pods of whales. And sometimes they are there, and sometimes they aren`t.

  • otrolit fin video.......med vackra djur......

  • what an amazing video and an even more amazing experience i'm sure!! I wish i could do this!

  • When you are in a boat on the water and the whales swim beside the boat i think its feeling so free, one with nature, just say nothing and enjoy the beauty of the nature, om my god i think people with so much worries on their head should come to norway to clean their mind just of watching whales and feel the freedom

  • love them Norway here i come.

  • I can't imagine anything better than diving with orcas :-)

  • wow amazingly amazing!!! i cant believe people actually get in the water with them! although i love them and love them, id still be scared!! lol they kill great white sharks!!! imagine what they could do to me!! lol ;) love them though!

  • I love the tail flapper at 2:55, like she just wants to splash all the people in the boat.

  • are these orcas transients or residents?

    awesome video!!!!!! :)

  • Given the fact they live on a 98 % fish diet, they should be residents actually. But I'm absolutely not sure ;(

Yes, the video is awesome, wish I could afford travelling there

  • they are transients. Coming to tysfjord in the begining of nowember and leaving in January

  • me,Daddy and a friend Has been on the safari,And it was amazing the First day when we Headed back to the Hotel,An orca male followed the boat for about 15 minutes

ps:of course its a risk to go out in the water,But is it better see them in sea world in a tank?Seeing them in theyr natural habitat is so worth the Long trip we took,From Bergen to Oslo,From oslo to bodø,And the next day we used a car

next time im going in the water.

Its worth the money and time

  • every spiece have a natural predator, and we are the orcas natural predators just like the do to the seals. so chill the fuck out bitches.....

  • Nope...we are not predators...we are just stupid :)

  • Must have been nice?

  • LOL why would those guys get into the water with those wild Orcas? LOL!

  • uh I dont see why that should be more dangerous than walking down the street with an armed police officer.

  • an armed police officer is supposed to protect and serve. The wild Orca could attack out of fear or defending young. Its just a situation I wouldn't personally risk.

  • That's beautiful, I'm thinking about going there this year on their next safari season.

  • What an interactive pod, they almost seem to be out of the water half the time. If there were more things to do there I would definatley go there, but only orcas aren't a good enough reason to spend all of your money on a trip around the world in hard economic times. ;P What an awsome experience though!

  • I actually went to tysfjord with my dad last year. It truly was a breathtaking experience. I wish I can go to the same place again some time. To bad that the orcas soon may switch location. It it possible that they will move their hunting-grounds to iceland. I hope not! :)

  • kwiko was the best orca

  • I dontk now, why but it almost maked me cry, I maybe went to there one Winter, but we didnt.

    I really wanna got there!

  • these are such wonderful mammals

  • Woah, what incredible footage... that looks like an awesome experience! I love how the whales were popping up all along side the little zodiac boat and how the orcas at 2:32 are looking inside the boat!

I hope to make it out there one day to take one of your tours; looks so exciting and unique! =]

  • I wanna go there.

    I will go there someday!!

  • i were there!

  • I am so glad to see this, me and my boyfriend are going there this winter to do the same as in this movie.

    Greats wies (Netherlands)

  • if you change the soundtrack to THE MOVIE JAWS soundtrack...... DA DUH DA DUH DA DUH DA DUH....the experience can differ the other way swimming with the orcas. kinda scary. hehe

  • Whale watching is an awesome alternative to captivity. People can see these animals in there natural enviornment and not end up spending a fortune for the experience.

  • Love this :) Saw this video in tysfjord, but you also showed us another one, can't you post it as well? And exactly is the name of the music?

  • Wow... i SO want to go back there.. the experience was just amazing... No words of the world can describe the feeling when you first meet them in their right habitat. Their beauty always make me cry...

  • I dont care how much money I have to pay... that's EXACTLY what I want to do... go out... in the cold water and swim right there! I would die happy and my soul would be free of yearning.

  • Herlig!

Det var dette vi missa i desember 2007, da vi var ute på Tysfjorden... vi kommer tilbake neste gang... Hilsen Gunnar.

  • Like Tysfjord!! :D

  • I live in Norway , One day im gonna live by a place where there are many orcas!!! =D

  • Thats just beautiful

  • I love Killer whales for about 13 years now. It's one of my biggest dreams to see them in the wilderness, the place where they belong! No whale or dolphin should be caught in a tank of sea world or any other place like that!

  • they dont belong in Sea World or Maoimai seaquarium or other parks they belong in wild! and its more edicuation to se them in wild!

  • U can also dive with them in norway! I will do that someday!

  • Wow, what boisterous whales! They certainly were keen to see the boat. Very cool spyhopping/breaching behavior.

And the parts of them under water are pure magic. One day, it is my dream to come visit Norway and just catch a glimpse of one under water.

  • This Is How Orcas Should Be Seen! In The Wild!

Even though they might not do fancy tricks but we should amire what they do anyway they are so intelligent. im only 14 but im gonna become a marine bioligst one day to study these whales. The tanks are too small every single one in teh world is too small for them, they need more room and tehy need 2 be with there familys like us we woudnt like it if we got taken away from our familys so why should they!

  • I shall one day swim free with an orca to,a lifelong ambition.Truely awesome.

  • And the orca will eat you, which is its ambition. LOL

  • Beauty, very beautiful movie !

    Congratulatulation ,it's spectacular.

One day I'm coming over there.

Thanks for the beautiful footage, love the underwater !

  • that is amazing footage i love it 5 stars n in me favs will someone please post me that footage

  • That is such fantastic footage!!! Thanks for posting &hearts and the way that Orca is coming out of the water and going under chest first is sign of playfulness how cute!

  • Yeah, good footage--but let's not forget that Norway is one of just three countries that opposes the moratorium on commercial whaling. And can't these creatures ever enjoy any <i>privacy</i> for hunting and socialization, away from these floating paparazzi?

  • Yeah, many might agree with you--but let´s not forget that the Norwegians don´t keep dolphins and whales in aquariums like they do in other countries...

  • The good news about this is that the orca is free in movements... So if they get bored or disturbed they simply leave. Trust me, been there often and that happens, if they get bored they go away, also daylight is limited in Tysfjord in winter time. Think this is better then watching whales in some small aquarium...

  • Yes, aquariums are awful places and I commend the Norwegians on that point. But killing whales is even worse than making them pets for our amusement. Tysfjord is a stunningly beautiful place, and I agree that whale tours can be an effective way to increase support for conservation. But orcas are drawn there for a reason, whether it's feeding, mating or socializing. They should be left free from intrusions most of the time, including summer.

  • @Runebert88 we agree that they are very intelligent animals right? do you not think that if they wanted to get away from the boat they can easily do so because they are quite powerful swimmers...

Furthermore, if they were not as interested in us as we are in them, then they have a certain level of freewill, do you think they would follow the boat and do 'tricks', which can be seen as a way to communicate, because they do communicate amongst themselves, so why would they do that do you think?

  • @Runebert88 Let’s not forget that Norway only hunt Mink Whale, NOT Orcas/Killer Whale! The population of Mink Whale are today more then 150 000 animals in the North Atlantic, and the fact that hunting Mink Whale in the North Atlantic gives other Baleen whale the opportunity to return to their natural habitat, like the Blue Whale!

  • Amazing footage! Can't wait to come up and see it for myself!
