Instrumentals & Percussion create a haunting atmosphere for this song. Background vocals a lament, reminiscent of the background vocals for Percy Sledge's When A Man Loves a Woman.

Cuba Gooding, Sr. has to be the best R&B singer from the 70's. "Everybody Plays The Fool" was an international smash. A song that leaves you sadder if you already sad. To love and play the fool is never easy. It's so sad.
