very beautiful :D only concern was for the horses knee in the first clip. i know he is fine and u seem to really know wat ur doin but just be careful :)
I come to view this video from a different perspective. I am researching for personal interest the tactics and maneuvers of cavalry use in medieval warfare. Spanish horse racing is often referenced in my queries and am truly impressed by the skill and control of both the rider and horse.
This makes clear with some obvious adaptations for military combat why and how the horse was so effective.
In German we say "hohe Schule". It´s a kind of Riding at the spanish ridingschool in Austria. I think, the person, who owns this video, translatet it litteraly. You´re right, it doesn´t make sence this way :D
I agree with MarthaMyDear64. Think about it.... When a dog is taught to poo outside and a cat taught to use a litter box and not your plants. Is that not a trick. Its not That big of a deal. Horses love to have a "job" and thats what this horse is doing and it looks to love its job to me.
Poor horse! I think this is cruelty ! Horses aren't made to do everything that the owner wants! Especially they aren't made to do tricks ! When they are free they don't do tricks ! Think about it if u were a horse and someone wants u to do something u don't like or don't do!
Its called spanish dressage, i dont like it because it doesnt help the horses flexability, but it doesnt stop anyone else from doing it, i lik¡ve in spain, and every year i go to whatch horses do this kind of stuff! so i dont see what the problem is!
Thankyou for posting this video, its great to see people using there horses, don't listen to all the bad comments. Its your horse and you can do with it what you like! Beautiful horse and it obviously listens to you so well and respects you which is more than I can say for alot of the riders out there
this is awesome, don't listen to those guys, it obviously got good training to be able to do that in the first place, so what if it needs a little more work? it's still a great horse =]
At least this horse gets to move forward so theres not as much stress on the joints. He also isnt made to carry his head unnaturally low like here in the states. I hate that practice. It isnt natural.
His hind quarters arn't suppose to be active when you are asking him to keep his back legs still while moving in a cirlce with his front. Your statement is an EPIC FAIL!!!!
This is WAY different then dressage, so you can't use any of your experience on this. Try 20 years of horsemanship training and 10 years of training performance horses like this equine. I think I know what I am talking about.
really great horse !! but i must say, what he did at the very first of the film, it did'nt look really well.. a horse should not do souch a thing ! it will give him damages to his front legs at the end .. the point is that the horse should step at the same spot with his front feet while the back of the horse circles around it..
wonderful horse with lot´s of talent! It´s only sad that the rider doesn´t care about the horse joints at all. In a few years the horse is going to have badly problems like arthritis.....You can see it already now.
o.k your are right I should explain my comment. In the first 30 sek of the video you can see an absoluty unhealty exercise for the joints. The horse joints are not made to carry so much weight and turn at the same time. Or did you ever see are horse doing this in liberty, do you? So I guess if a rider force/ trains a horse to do it, he does not cares about the joints a lot.
The horse is tensed and not really riden over the back.
You can see it very clearly in the passage ( tail hits, horse can not hold the rhythm and track...)If you look at the joints in walk you can see how instable they are. And the horse seems not to be able to do a proper relaxt walk....
But still, it´s a fantastic horse. I wish the rider would think a bit more about a healthy training with more lightness instead of force. I guess he has the talent to do it.
Just look at human athletes, our bodies aren't made to do many of our weird sports, and yes it can result in injuries, but there is a love of pushing yourself and competing and striving and I think horses experience similar emotions,I have known horses that just love to go out and work, much rather than be in their pasture all day.Beautiful horse beautiful movements everyone else if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all please.. go get laid and relax
@missrani125 that horse is one pissed horse. look how tense he is, think he's enjoying his job? are we watching the same vid? I see an overbridled horse with a cranking tail.. not a horse thats loving his job.
I didnt say anything about the double, I have no problem with the bridle being used but the hands using it. By overbridled I mean overbent, behind the vertical ect.
@missrani125 the difference is human athletes choose to engage themselves in those sports, and take risks on their own accord. I have never met a horse who has signed up to be a racer, or a dressage performer, or a barrel racer. those are the people choosing to put the horse at risk based on their own greed and want of ribbons/money.
Actually, they way we have bred these horses, yes they are made to move the way they do. Not every breed of horse can do this. But us smart ass humans have put so much inbreeding and cross breeding in to make these pure horses be able to do what they do today with no problems...
It's really a wonderful horse, very good trained and for all the people who think this is abuse, it isn't. I can know I already ride horse 8 years. If the horse doesn't like it, he isn't going to do it,
There is no reason of being rude. First of all we live in world with freedom of opinion!
And to your question. I am a horse physio-therapist, I study equine science at a veterinary university and have more than 20 years of horse experience.
all forms of horse riding is unnatural idiot. BUT we have bred these horses in a such a way so it is natural movments. From quarter horses to andalusions. They have all been breed to move in the ways they do.
and besides, my ancestors where english, not spanish.. unless you think crook is a spanish surname... which would answer the question of the brain.. you actually dont have one..
oh...you thought the spaniards were the only ones who rode horses centuries ago..so what did your ancestors ride when they were wandering in france, germany, spain before migrating to the british Isles? I guess they rode Goats, and donkey drawn chariots! about the brain...you should add that word to your surname + "ed" Crooked Brain!
Just because we do it to humans makes it right? I think not and to ama1001 no he's not bullfighting this is classical dressage. That is, in my opinion, the highest form of art.
