Japanese auto makers have been making quality for the last 30 years while domestic has been making crap. I know that one recall what a god sent for domestic companies to jump all over to try their best to even the score but I'd still buy foreign any day of the week over the crap they produce here. Although they are getting better but how long did it take them to figure out people don't want to pay 30 grand for a new car that will fall apart in 5 years.
they'd have to flush the engine oil, tranny, cooling system, Brakes, washer fluid, rear diff, replace the battery, replace the tires etc. Over 50 years some moisture may still get inside so they'd have to turn or replace the rotors and steering/ suspension components.
Let's only hope the Prowler comes out in 50 years unscathed unlike the '57 Belvedere they tried this with, which ended up coming out like as a rusted worthless automobile. Which is sad because that Belvedere would be worth a lot of money had they done it right.

Mustang Has a shitty ass V6 and it took them many years to finally squeeze out 300hp out of their V8 and its DOHC more tech than GM's OHV V8.... Camaro (mustangs rival) had already 305 hp by 1996

Actually, the car's retail price in 1998 was about a tenth of that price. It only cost so much because it's the prototype "concept" version. It might use some standard Chrysler parts (although I do NOT think the 253 hp 3.5 V6 was a minivan engine and it was a competitive V6 when it came out, unless that's not the engine they used in this prototype...) but Prowler was also the most aluminum-intensive car for its time. There was also no 1998 model: there was a 1997 and a 1999.

As long as this vault stays pressurized (which is what should have been done to the other one), and doesn't corrode due to moisture from the outside, This car will stay in its current condition.
The Plymouth Belvedere in 1957 was the first try. I guess, they have learned a lot more since 1957 in sealing such a capsule. The new one was not buried, where water can ruin it and the car was sealed in a plastic container (not only a plastic-foil like 1957) too, protected by a special gas.
Let's wait for 2048... i guess, the people of Tulsa will get more luck with this capsule than the one from 1957.

Mustang Has a shitty ass V6 and it took them many years to finally squeeze out 300hp out of their V8 and its DOHC more tech than GM's OHV V8.... Camaro (mustangs rival) had already 305 hp by 1996

That is true. They buried an old Plymouth Belvidere, I believe. I think someone will try to restore it. This time, I believe they are going to try to do a better job preserving the car. I certainly hope it works!!

Actually, the car's retail price in 1998 was about a tenth of that price. It only cost so much because it's the prototype "concept" version. It might use some standard Chrysler parts (although I do NOT think the 253 hp 3.5 V6 was a minivan engine and it was a competitive V6 when it came out, unless that's not the engine they used in this prototype...) but Prowler was also the most aluminum-intensive car for its time. There was also no 1998 model: there was a 1997 and a 1999.

What the hell are you gonna do with a Prowler in 50 years? We dont see enough of them around now so it's not going to be a "wow I remember those" or "my dad had one of those" moments for vary many people at all. It'll be a "i saw one once when i was a kid, it was yellow." kind of moment. You know? Bury something we all know, and see, and rode in.

poor car. Tulsa really likes ruining good cars, so that new generations have rust buckets to dig up. this will be just like that poor '57. that car will never run again, despite efforts from Boyd Coddington. this Prowler will never run again either.

The Plymouth Belvedere in 1957 was the first try. I guess, they have learned a lot more since 1957 in sealing such a capsule. The new one was not buried, where water can ruin it and the car was sealed in a plastic container (not only a plastic-foil like 1957) too, protected by a special gas.
Let's wait for 2048... i guess, the people of Tulsa will get more luck with this capsule than the one from 1957.
