this has been patched. it only increases their gold by 500 now. the "master trader" perk (100 speech) increases their gold by an additional 1,000 gold. I have found that being a member of the thieves guild (and completing 5 "... jobs" quests from delvin and vex) is much more beneficial than any perk in the speech tree. the Guildmaster hood provides 20% better prices, and with all 4 city influence quests completed EVERY fence has 4,000 gold, plus around 1,000 for the 4 merchants in the flagon.
@JackBlack5150 that's 5 "... jobs" quests in each of the major cities (cities with stables). after turning in your 5th from a particular city, Delvin will tell you to go see a certain person in that city. Markarth: Endon. Solitude: Erikur. Whiterun: Olfrid Battle-Born. Windhelm: Torsten Cruel-Sea.

@omgtheykildkenny u need 3 skill points and lvl 70 speech, get ur speech to 70 and take ur skill points and buy the left path of the speech tree to get to investor and purchase that skill. to get ur speech to 100 check out "skyrim speech guide" videos
the ability to invest with someone is bugged. I've found that the first person you invest in (someone inside a building) allows you to invest in him more than once. But, the game will only count it as one investment, although it keeps taking your money. he'll keep the cash he got from the investing, but after that's depleted, he'll return to the +500g that the game counts. so this is a pretty pointless bug. It's just money shifting over to one person til you can sell stuff to get it back.
In skyrim the perk tree of speech (I talk about skills merchant, allure, barter) are total bullshit. I got 50k on lvl 40~45 and money is not that important, the 'only' problem is that u loose very important perks on speech when u dont need it.
But u'll get a lot of money (more than 200k I think) if u go by this way on lv 50...talkin about a warrior guy.
@camiilarocchi im level 39 nord, with 220,000 gold. about 10,000 carry stuff / 450 and i rode from whiterun to markarth on shadowmere just to invest, and it's glitched!!! (my house is in markarth too and my wife is there now from breezehome in whiterun)
Get the enchanting ability "Banish" And just get a shitload of petty, lesser and common soul gems. Make a hole lot of iron daggers, go to an arcane enchanter and enchant the iron daggers with banish, pull it up to maximum use, and there u go, u level up blacksmithing and enchanting and u get an iron dagger u can sell for up to 800 coins. Thumbs up so he can see and maybe make an tutorial for it ;)
when i was like somewhere around lvl 30 or so a dragon came and the blacksmith guy wanted to fight him but his ass got lit up it sucked to because he was my favorite blacksmith also sad cause his wife and daughter would always talk about him but its all good i have a house in solitude thats 28000 gold total and the blacksmith there is tight with me
The true fastest way is cheating but still u go to black briar meadery with at least 25 speech and jus keep persuading him 100 speech in about 30 mins

@normthedoorman I suggest you play oblivion again. It certainly did. In fact, in Skyrim the gold replenishes within approximately three days--sometimes 24 hours. In Oblivion, the shopkeepers would take longer to replenish gold.

Alvor and Sigrid ( Alvors wife) were both killed by a dragon in my game. I took the keys to there house and I made it my own lol. Their daughter stops by their house sometimes throughout the day lol
Note: Some of the merchants may "forget" that you invested in their shop and lose the option for having extra buying gold. This may be a bug in the game. However, the glitch may also cause the trader in Riverwood to have an excessive amount of gold with which to purchase goods.
@247HIPHOPEFUL also, check out Snoopy0's videos to boost your speech. There's one of them that can teach you to make your crafting ability %1,000,000,000 more effective. And when you craft a potion or armor with that kind of bonus and sell it (regardless of whether or not the vendor can actually pay for it), your speech goes WAY up.
My speech and alchemy level went up to 100 in 20 minutes flat. no joke.
70 Speech is resonable if you think about it. most of the shop owners in skyrim are either broke as heck of don't have enough money to afford what you have. The invester perk gives them about 10k more money so they can afford most of it.
I don't get why you have to be 70 speech for this. It's like if your not a smooth talker they'll turn down an offer of 500 pounds and permanently increased money!
hmmmz I think this is bugged. After I saw this I went to this merchant. Invested in it and he had 11k. Then I sold some stuff while I thought i was buying it. So I loaded. I had to do it again. Invested again and now he only has 1100. The amount he should have. All other merchants only do get +500. Not +10k. If you haven't been to a certain merchant for a long time his money seems to increase. But only for one time it seems, and if you load it's gone. Seems very bugged to me.
I'm level 81 and a half I have 872k gold ATM 235 hours game play and all quest complete I think... But that trader has 11750 on mine and he's the best I found so far. :D
if you go talk to the merchant at the black briar meadery in riften and ask him "what is it like working for maven black briar" and then click persuade it will level your speech this process can be repeated and will level your speech every other time (your speech must be over 25 for this to work)
If you wanna boost your speech go to Black-Brair Meadry in Riften and talk with the guy behind the counter and just keep persauding him over and over again.
@ori033 NPC's won't respawn unless they're "essential" in which you can't kill them anyways. Sooo you'll have to reload a save from before you killed everyone. Sucks bro.
@cuzgandalfgothigh99 they really just come to whichever town you frequent the most. I go to morthal and the college of winterhold a lot, which is why there are about seven dragon carcasses in each of those locations. this guy probably goes to riverwood a lot

sometime when your talking to someone and your trying to get something from them yo have the option to persuade or intimidate them if they give in to your persuasion or intimidation your speech increases alot , just repeat the conversation with the persuasion or the intimidation option as much as you would like to increase your speech lvl
@xDragzGOML Actually, I think that specific vendor is the only one who gets a five digit gold amount. Anyway, I have lots of speech skills trained, including the last one which gives every merchant 1000 extra gold. Next character I start won't do that, because it's a waste if you plan to take your time with a character. So many ways of getting gold, and so little to spend it on...

Apparently river wood is the only place a merchant can do 10,000 gold or more once you invest and is not a glitch because there are items in game that are worth over 10,000 septims.
i did this just now, then went outside the store and waited 24 hours. went back in and the store had a little over 11000. all you have to do is wait once you invest

@247HIPHOPEFUL also, check out Snoopy0's videos to boost your speech. There's one of them that can teach you to make your crafting ability %1,000,000,000 more effective. And when you craft a potion or armor with that kind of bonus and sell it (regardless of whether or not the vendor can actually pay for it), your speech goes WAY up.
My speech and alchemy level went up to 100 in 20 minutes flat. no joke.

70 Speech is resonable if you think about it. most of the shop owners in skyrim are either broke as heck of don't have enough money to afford what you have. The invester perk gives them about 10k more money so they can afford most of it.

I don't get why you have to be 70 speech for this. It's like if your not a smooth talker they'll turn down an offer of 500 pounds and permanently increased money!

hmmmz I think this is bugged. After I saw this I went to this merchant. Invested in it and he had 11k. Then I sold some stuff while I thought i was buying it. So I loaded. I had to do it again. Invested again and now he only has 1100. The amount he should have. All other merchants only do get +500. Not +10k. If you haven't been to a certain merchant for a long time his money seems to increase. But only for one time it seems, and if you load it's gone. Seems very bugged to me.

I'm level 81 and a half I have 872k gold ATM 235 hours game play and all quest complete I think... But that trader has 11750 on mine and he's the best I found so far. :D

if you go talk to the merchant at the black briar meadery in riften and ask him "what is it like working for maven black briar" and then click persuade it will level your speech this process can be repeated and will level your speech every other time (your speech must be over 25 for this to work)

If you wanna boost your speech go to Black-Brair Meadry in Riften and talk with the guy behind the counter and just keep persauding him over and over again.

@ori033 NPC's won't respawn unless they're "essential" in which you can't kill them anyways. Sooo you'll have to reload a save from before you killed everyone. Sucks bro.

@cuzgandalfgothigh99 they really just come to whichever town you frequent the most. I go to morthal and the college of winterhold a lot, which is why there are about seven dragon carcasses in each of those locations. this guy probably goes to riverwood a lot

So basically i have 116 000 gold, haven't invested a single perk into speech yet, as i am trying to invest into what i miss the most.
My question is, do i even need tons of gold? I mean for training? I can pickpocket the money back. Buying a house? I got way more than i really need. Anything important that makes it worth putting perks into speech to invest?

@ItalianFlyGuy That's good, but i buy arrows and stuff that will give the merchant enough money. So i win by buying and i win by selling :P. Besides, with the boosts of a couple of artifacts, my speech is 98 at the moment and rising :P. So i am still asking, what there is to do with the money ;-).

@k4l4suPP if you have 116,000 gold, and you don't have two houses and a wife by now, yes! use your gold, invest. i am level 39 200,000 gold, a whife and to houses. tons of stuff i need to get rid off and just got this perk but didn't work for me.

@lilplayboy98 Well, level 81 with 400k + legit gold by now. I'd much rather just leave the items be, as i got my speech to 100 as well. Yet, i consider the perk useless, as i found out that the fences can have up to 4000 gold without any speech perks.
I know that this may prove useful to some people, but not to me.

HEY GUYS ok if you want to increase your speech level FAST and best of all FREE do this....
sometime when your talking to someone and your trying to get something from them yo have the option to persuade or intimidate them if they give in to your persuasion or intimidation your speech increases alot , just repeat the conversation with the persuasion or the intimidation option as much as you would like to increase your speech lvl

@xDragzGOML Actually, I think that specific vendor is the only one who gets a five digit gold amount. Anyway, I have lots of speech skills trained, including the last one which gives every merchant 1000 extra gold. Next character I start won't do that, because it's a waste if you plan to take your time with a character. So many ways of getting gold, and so little to spend it on...

arrrrgggghg this is really annoying, i had 12,000 gold on Lucan in riverwood, i accidently killed him so i went to alvor and i found him dead on the floor because he had been killed by a dragon!

Apparently river wood is the only place a merchant can do 10,000 gold or more once you invest and is not a glitch because there are items in game that are worth over 10,000 septims.

i did this just now, then went outside the store and waited 24 hours. went back in and the store had a little over 11000. all you have to do is wait once you invest
