We need to, earth will die anyway, if you want or not you can care about earth like you want and as long as life is here on earth its also preety important, but it won´t be here forever and if Life wants to survive, all depends on mankind exploring into space and not tomorrow that could be to later we need to care today! Or we just say: "I do not go out, Im not leaving home and about the generations will come I do not care" and we will die all here, the species can not go out there, too.
how about teleporting to mars? May be we should start designing devices that can teleport things from one plane to another in a matter of seconds. We can also teleport our own spaceships from one point in space to another.
@ejc45 teleporting on the PRESENT TIME is too imposible .. because TELEPORTING as u said FOR a SECOND?? it may take a SPEED to reach mars IMAGINE if you want to go to mars w/in one second do you think you're still alive? your body cannot resist the velocity and the speed taken up xD
Barely any existant water, low gravity, high radiation and extreme temperature seasons....if Earth was under those conditions human life would die out, why would one think Mars is our next choice for human habitation. We're not capable yet...we need to seek elsewhere
@ziggycat999 Mars doesnt have really that high a radiation level. Mars has lots of water in the ice caps. "Low gravity" so what we can adapt. " extreme temperature seasons" we can change that.
not only realizing single multi billion dollar missions, but far cheaper alternatives that might eventually get bulks of humans and travellers to earths orbit and beyond.
So give this president some space before you shout, also take a economy course to see why his governing actions are more then welcome, exspecially during a financial crisis,
I bet if you do all that (and you dont) but if you do that you would have a very different view on hussein obama.
of his wonderfull decisions. A president takes care off more jobs then just spacetravel, and to my knowledge his actions allow all scientific markets to break records. And you might have missed it, almost all scientific markets are in some way helpfull for spacetravel.
Their might not be a new apollo program next year, their might not even be a new apollo program at the time obama leaves office during a possible 8year presidency. But he does leave the best foundations possible to realize it,
does foundate the balanced economic system that allows companies to work on the future of spaceflight. Which is a job that not a single company or agency can undertake, and neither can nasa.
So those whom hate obama for his decisions were either extremely eager and happy to see the new constellation mission (I did to) and are now extremely sad he canceled it to demote him as a president for that to happen. Or they are extremely ignorant or economically disconnected to see the long term value
ok... sad story here, but thats not the case. Obamas financial plans and economic growth will open up chances for millions of enthousiasts and brilliant minds that will shape the new machinery prototypes that will boost our economy, infrastructure and space age to a new limit.
Apollo programs and billion dollar projects are not awarded by spoild attitudes and without doing labour. Perhaps obama doesnt open the immediate posibility or the immediate fabrications of new prototypes to space, he
Im so happy obama is president of the USA. Ok, I know alot of folks disfavour him.
1*cause theyre conservative republicans.
2*Because Wall Mart has no immediate discounts
3*Because taxes are higher and income isnt raised
4*Because humans want immediate result and pro-longed plans which obama aims on are either unseen by lack of educational insight or either spoiled principles that most americans experience which makes them demand immediate succes reports and rewards for that in return.
@Darko2625 not exactly "The technology to send humans to Mars has existed for many years. Yet one of the reasons why no one has landed on Mars is because certain folks won't allow it until a human Mars flight can be made perfect." Making this flight perfect can last from 20 to 50 years ( and as Robert Zubrin says NASA will not hurry up). So mission to Mars can be between 2030-2060 . Nobody knows it exactly. (If you have time watch "Mars underground" )
@MrAndersohn LOL. Mister Anderson. I loved Matrix. BTW who knows... This jerk Obama is canceled Constellation program,so while other nations colonizing space...USA will watch. This is shame for country that is currently leader in space program!
Not going to happen. Obama has decided to cut funding to NASA and has already instructed NASA to "de-orbit" the ISS in six years. Like it or not, we're stuck here and we in the US voted for it.
I dont know where you get your facts. But you horribly wrong.
Obama set up the augustine commission to review human space flight. There are building the rockets right now.
It was Bush who planned to deorbit the ISS in 2015. The augustine commission said that was a bad idea.... Obama is expected to listen to them. He will be making an announcement on it soon.
@pacificguitarist New York TImes Online about three months ago. It said that he didn't see any reason to fund the ISS when there are other uses for the money here on the ground. He's also since vowed to not fund any further space exploration such as the Aries Rocket Program. Rather you like him or not, he cut NASA's throat.
Paul- I don't know where you get your information. I don't mean to come off as a pompous ass.... but when it comes to space flight and policy on it.... I know what I'm talking about.
Obama specifically set up the Augustine Commission to review human space flight. He has yet to pick any of the 5 options they presented him with.
The rockets by the way are called Ares. Not Aries.
The PROGRAM is called Constellation. Not Ares.

People go on mars ... Pff , first we need to discover all stuff on earth then go to space... Sorry bad english.
