Bruce Lee seemed to have realized it thus he made his own style.

He trained vigorously on his body, spirit and took many training courses with fighters/friends that had a diverse skill, like Labelle,Norris,Moore,Rhee,Wall etc.That is how he was able to create JKD by combining all skills. In America you say? you're off. BL trained WC in HK with YIP MAN before he came to America.
