celicas were made to compete with ferraris, porchas, ect. the reason why they dont have much hp is because unlike european engeniering, japanese make cars that can be made in a large production(available to many ppl) but can be tuned to watever specs you want (turbos, super chargers, ect.) now, aviously the main components of the car(engine, drivetrain,ect) are all production quality and not as good as the exotics(ferraris) but like i said, you can change all that

it doesnt seem heavily modded for power. and like i responded to ilgas modded celica brakes are still not as good as porsche and ferrari brakes. and maybe he is on race compound tires, lets let the driver tell :)

my conclusion is that he cuaght those guys in their expensive toys based on skill/experience and... not to take away credit. the rich guys must have less experience and more fear with their expensive toys.

actually, that's an illusion. a car infront of you on a track will always appear to be pulling away from you on a straight even if your car is faster, because he has come out of the turn earlier than you, and therefore has a headstart in acceleration, even if you reach the same top speed down the stretch. likewise, he is not "catching" up to them in the corner, that's just because the car infront has started braking for the corner earlier. real circuit racing is about time interval, not distance
