  • wow took forever to finally find out who sings this incredible song and the irony is the artist came from my own back yard..amazing how some things stare you right in the eye and we over-look them..40 yrs later and i found it..

  • this song was written about a friend of mine. His father Joey wrote it years before he had his son, but when he did, he named him Jodie. Winnipeg music.

  • I heard this first on AM580 Windsor "The Legendary Studios of the Big 8".

Give the programming director a raise!

  • "up around the bend" anyone?LOL

  • It's fucking awesome. I played it thrice.

  • @ronebbarvoltz I can tone it down a bit by saying friggin but nope Not happening.

  • my late mother named me after this song ...god bless her

  • my names Jodie. HAHAHAHAHA.

  • I don't thik this sounds like CCR, CCR sounds like Joey! Just ask his son Jody!

  • Sounds like Mr Gregorash was a serious John Fogerty fan. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

  • Stephen Harper has six months to clean out his office.

Heil Harper we hardly knew you.

  • @polardiscoball i agree he is not gona have much power much longer!

  • Just one more reason, I'm proud to be a Winnipegger, I didn't know Joey Gregorash was from there as well. I learnt something today thanks for posting :)

  • The first song I really loved. Still good today.

  • @TTipper Too much, that was the case for me too. I was a kid in kindergarten hearing this tune on the radio and it was the first song I ever liked.

  • This is the most amazing CCR copy song ever! I wonder if CCR actually recorded this song as "Joey Gregorash"?

  • @29958867 No - Joey Gregorash was a Canadian Recording artist I heard first on the Big 8 CKLW in Windsor - it does have the CCR sound for sure - Check out another one of his tunes called "My Love Sings" - He also did a cover version of Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl" and "Down by The River".

  • My first song I really loved

  • I remember this song, I used to listen to it over & over when I was 11 or 12. I was at the garbage dump today about to put some cardboard into the compactor & this song was playing on the radio. All the memories came flooding back.

  • where can a guy get down by the river by joey

  • @Bearluvin23 It just got posted onto Youtube last month.

  • Very talented Canadian from Winnipeg. Three greats from the windy city in Manitoba; Burton Cummings, Joey Gregorash and Winnie the Pooh. Must be a great city.

  • Woohoo, my name!

  • I got my daughters name from this song too!

    sing like jodie

  • Good song. However, Gregorash's best song was his cover of Neil Young's "Down By The River." It used to be up here but it was taken down. I hope someone will post it again soon.

  • Yeah. Where did it go. Loved it. Much better than Neil's version.

  • This is where our daughter got her name. Love you Jodie and love this song!!

  • i love this song, it has such a good tune!

and i've finally found a song with my name in it!! haha.

and yeah i agree, it does souns a little like CCR.

  • good tune.nothing compares to good ole 70s canadian rock.

  • I fucking LOVE this song, except the oldies station that would play this song (along with tons of other obscure '60s and '70s Canadian music) went off the air. WHOO! Good to hear it again!!!

  • I love this Song! Can anyone tell me anything about Joey Gregorash? This song brings back great memories of "Simpler" times.....

  • Joey Gregorish is a Canadian who had a couple of hits including this song and the Wedding Song. He also had a T.V. show called Skiddle Bits it was out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

  • Thanks very much for the information! A lot of great Canadian Bands came out of Winnipeg....it is so cold in winter, they have nothing else to do but rock and roll!

  • Anyone else thinks this sounds like CCR?

  • When this came out I knew a few CCR songs and thought it was them.

  • It's true ! It does sound like CCR .. Oh well, it's just a sign of the times ...

  • @sonnybuddy2001

LOL, I always thought this was a CCR song.

  • @sonnybuddy2001 I was trying to find this song for longest time thinking it was one of their song.

  • Brings back nice memories!!!

  • Love, love, loooove this song!!! Thanks for posting!

  • Can't say I like this one but he did a version of Down by the River (I shot my baby) that is awesome and I can't find it anywhere. Anyone help?

  • Good Choice Terry. I can probably add down by the river i have the album North County Funk from Joey Gregorash it's from vinyl but it sounds pretty decent.

  • Thanks a million. I've been trying to find that song for years. It had a lot of airplay in Vancouver. Now if I could just find Sunny Goodge Street by Tom Northcott.
