I'm glad that thanks to those two films that he's getting noticed more and more. He is amazing in everything he does. Even in the show 'Human Target'. He plays Willie Loomis in 'Dark Shadows' and Alexander Stephens in 'Lincoln' next year. Once again, secondary characters but he will definetly out shine all. I wish nothing but the best for him, and to be honest, I'd rather see him waaaaay more than Tom Cruise ANY DAY. :)

Like the film 'Little Children' that he was nominated for, people have said that his performance was so haunting, so disturbing, and very heartbreaking that it stayed with them. I haven't seen the whole movie yet but I've seen some movie clips and like everyone else, he should've gotten that Oscar. But knowing how Hollywood is, it didn't happen. Still, it showed that he's truelly an incredible actor. Also, 'Watchmen' may have showed even further how impeccable his ability is.

It bothers me that he keeps getting roles that are supporting/secondary all because he's not as interesting as the other actors we keep hearing about. In most of his movies, he plays the best friend, sidekick, outcast, etc. Rarely he's in the lead. But you know what's funny? Ironically, he is the one that the audience is swayed by and the most interesting one, despite being the secondary character.

Jackie Earle Haley is truelly a remarkably amazing actor and seems like such a great person. I'm just flabbergasted at how Hollywood tends to ignore him when it comes to acting jobs and all. I've seen a few of his movies and let me tell you this guy can act his ass off! He embodies his characters extremely well and keep you enthralled with his performances.

He is the real A-List Type of Actor....the obvious problem is he is not as easy to mass market such as a johnny depp for the physical reasons...he is shorter than average, he is not that great looking just average, and he is bald....but finally his acting shined and he is getting the respect he deserves....

I agree. I don't know why, but it just tickles me to death to see how his career has just exploded. He clearly wanted to act, but couldn't get a job to save his life. And to then be plucked out of obscurity to wind up nominated for an Oscar is just amazing. JEH is like a rare gem found. And I agree with you, people Brad Pitt get all the parts, but it's people like this who have the true rooted talent. The best part is that he's so appreciative of it all. I want to see this man win an Oscar!!

Actors make different voices sometimes in some roles. Look at Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood, Philip Seymour Hoffman in Capote, or Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight. Even in Little Children Haley sounded different. But that was a little more subtle compared to the mentioned performances.
