Holy fuck boys, for those of you who don't know why there's washing machines, it's because Neil has his massive ass drum set and Alex has his wall of amps but poor 'ol Geddy gets nothing, so he put washing machines as a joke.

@fetchy15 Not really... Geddy just prefers to use the PA system for his bass amplification. Geddy felt weird though without having anything behind him, so every tour they went on he threw something different behind him to fill that empty space. Last show I saw them at they were using rotisserie chicken ovens.

This is the first vid where you can draw a direct comparison between Neil's old style and his new one. Look at old versions of this song: Neil's style changed, and he became a much better drummer. Now, instead of trying to drill holes through his drums, he seems to float above them. There is a huge difference.

@firebirdsummer2 : When Geddy went to all direct-input, there was a disparity between his backline and Alex's. Geddy no longer had a huge stack of amps, but Neil still had his huge kit, and Alex had his stacks of amps. So Geddy started out by balancing the onstage picture with a refrigerator. It's an old musician's joke: a huge amp was called a refrigerator amp. Then, he started using other appliances. The clothes here are Rush t-shirts, which they toss to the audience, after the show.

I want to take this sound guy to every concert I go to. Every concert I go to, the singer is always distorted, the guitars and drums are always at maximum level & it just sounds like noise.
