In fact, to solve most of the string puzzles is normally very tricky. Sometimes,the problem solver of this kind of string puzzles should get help from the book or other people who could solve the problem concerned.

I think I've seen the same sort of thing done with a beads on a measuring ruler that had two holes at it's center, would that have the same solution and be the same as this if you used a second hole instead of the tube? Wow those books look interesting, it's great that you the skill to build them and solve them yourself. Some people only wait until stores supply puzzles before they can enjoy them, and never really learn the mechanics or skill to create them themselves. :)

You've mentioned that some people never really learn and study the puzzle. It's a very common scenario since most of the people give up too readily and never get start even thinking about any slightly meaningful thing. And therefore education is so important to the children. Most people grow older but cannot grow up.
