its nice. it would be better if it's not too dragging, especially on 2:29. maybe a little bit of accelerando. at 2:55 it should be sung maestoso with the same speed as 2:29. do the same to other similar passages. Mabuhay!

You have talent indeed. However I hear your voice coming mostly from the throat and not deeper down from your Hoo Hoo. So this is not Bel Canto singing. My opinion is if you like this tone quality your voice would fit well with broadway songs and popular standards. Go for it and find the right songs for you where you are most comfortable with. Alan, BRAVO 4 this beautiful singing. You are very talented & your diction is perfect. There's also a tremendous DRAMA & passion in ur voice. Your voice timber is natural & rare. However, Inasmuch as I love your singing, you are not singing the song properly. Youre using your entire throat and that's NOT good for it will destroy your beautiful timber. You must support your voice to protect it; otherwise you will not last long. Listen to Ms. Buencamino; shes right you got to use your diaphragm.

when i worked on this performance, i was the only filipino voice major, and 1 of 2 music majors in the entire university. no filipino professors and no one to help me in any way with my project on kundiman. i only had a few months to prepare this, but i didn't let that stop me from performing it because my intent was to bring awareness to the community of my own heritage, NOT to present a completely authentic representation kundiman.

classic1306, you have no idea who i am, what i stand for, what kind of preparation i've had, or what my intentions were for posting this video. i posted this video to share with my friends and family who weren't able to make it to my recital, not to show off to the world how well i sing kundiman. i don't know much about kundiman, and i don't even speak any filipino languages. that's not because i don't want to or haven't tried. there are no resources where i live.

A lot of the remarks left here are insults disguised as constructive criticism, and I find that rather unsettling. These comments could be really helpful, but telling someone their performance is shameful, and that they're a disgrace to the filipino race is taking it too far, and is in no way encouraging to people who take it upon themselves to learn music that isn't normally heard in our community.

well, if youre bias with him, you will surely appreciate his lazy interpretation of this wonderful kundiman. for me, its too slow, it lacks passion from inside, it feels like he just want to stop at the middle of this song.. i dont know who to blame, the pianist, the prof or him.. if he was masterclassed my dear, the he surely will not sing this kundiman in this largo tempo.. you get what i mean? huh?
