shit, I only have a AMD 6000+ 95watt from like years ago, 4 Gig DDR2 800 Geil black dragon and a 4870 1Gb and I can play anything. Online reviews are full of shit. I run on XP and I bang out mass FPS all day long. WoW, over 100 in vanilla zones, newer zones are about 60-80. I've been building PC's for years, and the online reviews always say "don't" but that's because they don't want you to have a good pc. I buy cheap and still end up with an epic pc.
I know i am waiting till Nvidia comes out with it's new cards, before i decide what GPU i will be getting for my system, also price will tell what i get also, I currently have 2 EVGA 9500GT 1GB cards in SLI at the moment, and they play most games well enough for me, plus my AMD mobo has Nivida chipsets to start with, but i still love AMD and ATI for what they bring to the table.
Showing some of the inner workings of AMD, the gaming industry, overclocking events etc. gets a big +1 from the community and really helps AMD's image!
Sorta on topic, hope you run an overclocking event for Thuban Hexa-Core when they arrive, i wanna see six cores running 7GHz+ breakin' records! :D
my system is just about done!specs: Coolermaster Cosmos 1000 Ga-790xta-ud4 Amd Phenom II X4 955 Coolermaster V8 Sapphire HD 5850 Wd my book USB 3.0 external HD liteon 4x blu Ray reader Next I have to get Windows 7 Home premium full version Acer S243HL Microsoft Sidewinder x8!
PCs will always have ultimate graphics capability, but not a lot of people can afford one. That's why a lot of people buy a console, with $200 for Wii, $300 Xbox 360 Elite, $300 PS3, it makes a PC with really good specs for over $1,000. People don't have that kind of money where I live, it's relatively a low income area where I live, thus, more people have consoles than high end gaming PCs.
I see what you mean but I have to point out that for 635 to 655 with OS (depending on video card) you could make a nice gaming PC that should last you a while before needing to upgrade and could run every game out their on maximum at 30+ fps on a 22 inch monitor though that does not include the price of the monitor, mouse or keyboard. A decent mouse and keyboard for gaming would cost 25 to 30. I Know you can cut that price down even more if you look at some articles on toms hardware, techspot.
RevalutionDemonKilla not everybody i mean a console today is about 300$ average that's almost as much as a video card so the poors people only way to do gaming is through a console that is all i am trying to say...im not bashing pc gaming i think pc gaming is superior but more expensive
good to know..and usmex i dont think pc is going to kill consoles not everyone can afford a gaming pcs and that is why most prefer to buy a console instead so no
yes, but if you work hard enough, you can achieve anything or anything. p.s i am also a console gamer, but I tend to play console more than pc's because of my friends cannot afford high end gaming pc's like you said.
I dunno about that, last November I was faced with either upgrading my system to play Batman Arkham Asylum or buying a 360/PS3 and Batman Arkham Asylum
Core2Duo E7500 + ATi HD4670 PCS 1Gb + Batman Arkham Asylum worked out cheaper than a 360 alone.
Then I overclocked both the cpu and video card...so upgrading can be more affordable than buying a console, just need to know where to look and spend a bit of time using your brain to learn how to do it. XD
Consoles will not be killed... They are cheaper, much easier to use, and have exclusive games that are good. People have said what you said when DX9 and DX10 have come out. The next consoles are coming soon and they will be even more powerful. Not many games take full advantage of PCs because its too hard. For consoles games like Uncharted 2, which looks better then even a few new PC games, look outstanding because consoles are all they worry about and not various types of hardware.
obviously, but in terms of the actual experience on pc, being submerged into a game is a cool idea. I for one am a console gamer, however i enjoy playing a few games on pc that take full advantage of being upgradable and therefore better as they are constantly changing, whereas consoles can only reach a certain level before a totally new machine is built. Therefore i hope that the gaming industry will come together to make one machine, that is upgradable. (but this will never happen cos of £/$)
Consoles tend to be as powerful or slightly more powerful then the PCs of their launch date, not counting the Wii. Imagine how powerful the next consoles will be. Games will get more complex to make and that just makes even more developers give in to focusing more on the consoles. PC gaming might not die for a while. But it could be reduced unless graphics cards prices go down and consumers quit whining about the prices(they really look at the most expensive ones...).
@purewolfgod1 Sorry but your in denial man. The ATI GPU in the 360 is equal to a HD2000 series graphics card in a PC. There is a 3000 series, a 4000 series, and now the 5000 series. The consoles HAVE NOT caught up with the hardware. Maybe the next gen 360 and ps3 will have close if not equal graphics to a PC, but right now, nope. My 4870 1Gb on full blast in BF-Bad Comapany 2 Vs. a 360 or ps3, my PC looks better @ 1080p on the same HD TV. 360 and PS3 don't even compare.
so true, but you made a terrible example :D bf bad company 2 is a port from console to pc, its a super fun game but it was designed for consoles first, says so in the development diaries, it still looks better i bet (cause aa and af and probably a few higher settings) but there is other games that would be alot more dramatic of a difference from console to pc then bf bc2 :)
@Acer0c If you knew more, you would know that the 360 came out when the ATI HD3000 came out, yet the 360 has worse performance. The 360 is equal if not worse then the ATI HD2000 yet you say "at the time of launch". no kid. you don't know shit. come see me when you in the business, not just sitting at home reading material on the internet.
Are you stupid? i know the xbox 360 sucks obviously you cant read though, i SAID THAT THE GAME YOU CHOSE WAS A BAD EXAMPLE PC IS BETTER THEN CONSOLE but BATTLEFIELD bad company 2 is a port game, SO if you would have say chosen MW2 there is a bigger graphical difference from pc to console, READ NEXT TIME BEFORE YOU NERD RAGE
@acer0c my bad dude, I meant to comment off "purewolfgod1" because he said that when consoles come out they are the same graphics generation of the pc. then he just recently said that the 360 is comparable to the 6800 nvidia and the x800 ati. if that's the case, 360 came out in 2005, in 2005 pc was up to the ati x1950gt and 8000 series nvidia.
I agree, bf bad company was ported to pc, but it still looks hella better (and i bang out a good 80fps solid on highest gfx 24xAA and 16AF)
@purewolfgod1 If that was true, then you proved me right. consoles come out being behind, never the same. The 360 launched when? 2005? in 2005 we had the x1900 series graphics from ATI. The x1950gt is better then both the 6800 and the 7800, since it came out the same time the 8000 series nvidia popped out.
PC and consoles will always, and have always, lived alongside of each other.
Gaming as it is today was introduced on consoles. And consoles will remain exceptionally potent for as long as a decent videocard cost you as much as the complete Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 system.
