  • thanks! this video helpsss :D

  • i thought i have bronchial for so long i guess its vesicular. thanks for helping

  • Thankyou! :)

  • put your steths on your throat. thats the sound of bronchial breathe :D

  • it's a sound of pneumonia. no ?

  • Why does vesicular sound have longer inspiration and brochial sound have shorter inspiration??

  • Molto utile!!

  • thankx dr parth :-) ....

  • Thanks it is a useful information for my examination. great it helps a lot

  • if still not sure, u can do vocal resonance... it is always louder on the side with bronchial breathing

  • thank you so much it is so helpfull especially with NSB 118 looooooooooooool

  • thank u

  • Bronchial sound : short inspiration long expiration

Vesicular sound : long inspiration short expiration

  • @gheblack

sorry, in my opinion, this is wrong.

Vesicular BS - long inspiration and short expiration. And there is no gap betw inspiration and expiration.

Bronchial BS - long inspiration and long expiration. And there is a gap betw inspiration and expiration.

    Just for your reference. :)

  • @peisze621

With all due respect, may I correct both of you?

vesicular: inspiration is 2.5 times LONGER than expiratory phase. a 5:2 ratio.

brochial (tubular): louder than vesicular sounds, SHORT INSPIRATORY and LONG EXPIRATORY phase, a 1:2 ratio.

  • @MeezDre @gheblack was right.

  • @MeezDre

thank you. I have never come across this! :)

  • @MeezDre was wondering if u cud help me sort out something-correct me if i'm wrong pls:)..with regards to the respiratory cycle, my understanding is that inspiration:expiration is 1/3: 2/3 respectively yes? whereas with regards to 'vesicular breath sounds' themselves.. they are a soft, low pitched sound where the inspiratory SOUND is longer and louder than the expiratory SOUND- n there's no pause in between (unlike bronchial- much like listening over the trachea)? is this ur understanding too?

  • Bronchial sounds short inspiration long expiration.

vesicular sounds long inspiration short expiration.

    Is that right?

  • Bronchial Sounds truly do sound like Darth Vader breathing thru his mask.....thanx!!

  • thanx

  • Thank u.

  • thank you so much 4 posting this vid n d others..

  • thanks

  • The absolute best way to remember how bronchial breathe sounds sound, is to remember how "darth vader" breathes!! Trust me, you'll never forget it now!!

  • Thanks! You're right, I never will! =)

  • yep great tip

  • darth vader???

  • thanks for that tip, its great!

  • @inbetweenthetwo awesome thkx a lot

  • Sounds like a guy I used to work with. We called him "Mouthbreather"

  • Thank you

  • thanks so much for this. my exams are in 2 weeks, and this is rally helpful

  • Thanks a Lot

  • thanks for that very useful. im trying to find out the different conditions you hear vescicular sounds in and whether these differ? wonderig if you can guide me? thanks again very useful

  • vesicular is normal breathing....bronchial is normal when auscultating the trachea but if heard elsewhere can be a sign of a mass in the lung...

just did this today in clinical skills!

  • i see. thanks for the reply. im a bit confused; i tought a mass in the lung would show as reduced sounds? rather than a more coarse sound? but i geuss you would hear bronchial breathing if the mass was in a bronhi and reduced if it was on the lung parenchyma?

  • you do get reduced breath sounds with masses. but masses can also cause bronchial breathing by secondary pneumonia. basically bronchial breathing is pathognomonic for consolidation.which is caused by pneumonia. hope that clears it up a bit for you.

  • thank you~ this vid is very useful in my study :D

  • HUGE Thanks,

    very usefullllllll!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey dr solanki,

thanks for that.. was never sure about these 2 since med school
