I think Jim Cramer was upset about the bad advice on Mad Money but he respects John Stewart's job as an entertainer and feels that he doesn't need to say anything bad about John. His facial expression when Scarborough started focusing on criticism of John Stewart was a realization that his interview was mainly to criticize a competing news source.

TJS isn't for news. I watch it to laugh and listen to funny things about the days news. I watch CNN, Fox, MSNBC and CBS for the news. It is their job to warn, be unbias, and have complete coverage. Kramer failed. Glad I didn't buy when he said to buy and looked into Bear Strens debt ratio instead.
i love Jon Stewart, I supported him all the way with the whole Cramer/Stewart conflict, but i've got to agree with Scarborough (assanine as he may be) that LATELY, and this isn't a generalisation of the show, TDS seems to be picking out the random, sudden, unintentionally politically incorrect things people say, and poking fun at them. @RosaLui Apparently I've watched it enough. Otherwise, we wouldn't even be having this conversation now. Stewart is just like what this guy mentioned. I used to watch him back in the day for some humor, and occasionally I'd get a clip on Bush spitting on the ground, or tripping over a rock, with Stewart and his audience making fun of that. Look, if you watch Kramer and take his advice as fact you are a fool and deserve to loose money. If you have any brains you'll realize his show is entertainment. I watch his show ejoy it, and have never followed his advice. What I like about his show is that it gets me thinking about stocks. Just like Rush Limbaugh gets me thinking about politics. But do I take Rush's word? No way.
The issue at hand is DON'T TRUST WHAT A D-BAG ON TV SAYS TO DO WITH YOUR MONEY. "Maybe Jon Stewart can tell us what the markets will do over the next 5 to 10 years." No Joe, he won't. You know why? Because unlike Cramer, he knows that nobody can tell the future of the market. That is the issue at hand. Of course they learn from the daily show. The other sources you name don't do a very good job. They blindly followed Bush even when he lied about Iraq, and they never point out his flaws. It is relatively easy to be a comedian. All you need to do is take a short bit of information, short enough to sound silly, and people laugh. You don't put it in properly history, political, etc. context. You wrap it around and it's funny.

TJS isn't for news. I watch it to laugh and listen to funny things about the days news. I watch CNN, Fox, MSNBC and CBS for the news. It is their job to warn, be unbias, and have complete coverage. Kramer failed. Glad I didn't buy when he said to buy and looked into Bear Strens debt ratio instead.

i love Jon Stewart, I supported him all the way with the whole Cramer/Stewart conflict, but i've got to agree with Scarborough (assanine as he may be) that LATELY, and this isn't a generalisation of the show, TDS seems to be picking out the random, sudden, unintentionally politically incorrect things people say, and poking fun at them. Which is fine, as long as it's not done too much. If he were to rip apart "remarks" that made a huge splash in the news or in the public, that would be cool. IMO.

WOW, did scarborough even watch the interview, stewart wasn't saying cramer mad bad picks. he was saying that cramer just listened to whatever the CEO's said about their companies and didn't make an informed judgement (his job) about how their stocks would perform, despite the fact that these companies were levereged with an unheard of amount of debt among other things... stewart was basically saying cramer didn't think for himself and do his job, which is a great observation by jon stewart.

I used to watch him back in the day for some humor, and occasionally I'd get a clip on Bush spitting on the ground, or tripping over a rock, with Stewart and his audience making fun of that. I knew then, that I was watching someone who just went completely partisan. South Park hates both sides, at least. This guy isn't funny anymore.

Granted, I never watch the show except here on youtube when they make asses of themselves (which there are a bunch), but damn, every clip the same "I don't wanna talk or scarborough is going to beat me again" look? Most things comedians say are funny but easily seen ( by some of us) for what they are. The sad part is many lack the wherewithal to understand them. It's a real shame that a recent survey showed that most young adults get their news from Jon Stewart and Bill Mahrer.
Wow, that's like reading comic books instead of the WSJ, National Review, or the New Republic.
And the Left has always used that to their advantage, because Truth is relative to them and what they want.

It is relatively easy to be a comedian. All you need to do is take a short bit of information, short enough to sound silly, and people laugh. You don't put it in properly history, political, etc. context. You wrap it around and it's funny.

Ronald Reagan had experience as governor of California before the presidency, and a proven track record of economic improvement that appealed to voters after Carter. (hello landslide!) Obama has nothing but, to quote Hillary: "A speech he gave in 2004." Stewart was funny, and insulting. As for substance, he doesn't know shit. The point being we apparently don't care about substance anymore.
