  • Y U NO SOUND?

  • AM Radio was just starting to play "Rock" style music in '54, and this one helped lauch the music we know today a Classic song by a Classy Lady! I still miss her even today! RIP Rosemary.

  • "Ain't a-gonna need this house no longer, Ain't a-gonna need this house no mo' "

Rosemary + Thurl + that sensational harpsichord solo = one delightful and unforgettable classic!

Thanks for sharing with us, VinylNostalgia!

  • Who is the darked voiced man singing with Clooney? Im having trouble finding out who he is! Just love his voice!

  • Hi

    millanpersdotter...

That would be the legendary Thurl Ravenscroft...(Tony The Tiger):)

    ~Max

  • Thanks for the info, I knew someone would come up with the answer. Are you saying he was the voice of Tony the Tiger? "They're Grrrrrrrrrreat!"

  • Thurl sure was...for 53 years and some 500 Kellogg's Frosted Flakes commercials!...until his death in 2005. He also sang the theme song for "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" (uncredited) as well as the voice of many rides and attractions @ Disney Land and Disney World...most famously for the Haunted Mansion.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Pax,

    Max

  • For another fine example of Thurl's easily recognizable voice, might I suggest you look up "Boom Boom Boomarang" as performed by The De Castro Sisters here upon You Tube? You won't be disappointed!

    Have a wonderful day!:)

    Pax,

    Max

  • My two favorite songs by her both have the word "House" in the title - this one and "Come On-A My House".

  • These two are also my favorites by her but I also must include "Hey There" which incidentally is the hit side to the "This Ole House" record. I have fond memories of my mother singing "Hey There" back when I was a child in the mid 50's.

  • Hi

    VinylNostalgia...

Since we're discussing favorite Rosie sides, might I join in and add my favorite 78rpm?...

    MAMBO ITALIANO :)

    Have a wonderful day!

    Pax,

    Max
