The apple on the front cover is a biblical symbol for forbidden fruit. Edward is supposedly this forbidden fruit that Bella Swan is not supposed to have. However, I believe the symbol is purely by chance; I doubt Stephenie Meyer intended for that symbol to exist.

I have to agree that the Twilight and the entire saga is abysmal. Every book was poorly written and each one has so many plot holes and unrealistic characters. It's a slap to the face of literature.
