@LAO90 you get medals for going places and doing things, like on deployments you get a medal or ribbon for where you have been, and then if you do something good you can get more, or if you get injured or see action you can get more. motor-t and infantry tend to get more ribbons cause we get to travel alot more and get to see action. hope that helped. semper fi!

@nelsonmouse ya well in the marine corps its not to easy for us to get medals. this marine even though he is only a lance corporal has been in for more than one enlistment, so 4+ years. see the yellow stripe on his sleeve? i only got 2 ribbons for a whole years deployment. unlike the army we work for our ribbons and medals....the army gets one for throwing a gernade. lol
