The cadenza is perfect. This is perfect. Oistrakh has only disappointed me once, and sadly it was a bad first impression. His abilities are fantastic.
On the rare note, I've been collecting vinyls, and recently got the Primrose Heifetz Piatigorsky chamber music collection... it is amazing.
Man, I love this cadenza. It's Ferdinand David's. Does anyone happen to know where I could find sheet music for it? I've looked just about everywhere.
I love it too! It's so beautiful. I dodn't know who it was by that might help in a search for the music...I like it better than the Joachim version, especially with the double stops and whatnot...
Genio.........

WOW! From 8:10-8:16! How he re-creates the main theme? And the the amazingly in tune octaves at 8:17-8:20? Oistrakh is brilliant.

So staccato, with lots of stop time. Interesting. I like it a little more lyrical and operatic. I do like his slower tempo though.
