Elle: the Philippine govt. changed it from "Ph" to "F" derived from the spanish name of the country Las Islas Filipinas when the country was under Spain's colonization. But when the name was changed to "Philippines" ir honor of King Philip of Spain, the "Filipinos" remained the same--- strarting with "F" not "Ph"

virajelix, while it maybe true that Travis Payne did a great job with that fantastic choreography which is a great addition to the great dance selections of the Cebu prisoners, but IT IS NOT him who created the dance rehabilitation program of the Cebu prisoners. Travis & the late MJ were actually inspired by those prisoners and the effective program that their warden CREATED. Just want to give credit where credit is due. ;o)

Our country was named after King Filipe (Philip) of Spain so you can derive from his name (both Spanish and English versions of his name) how FILIPINO and PHILIPPINES came about. Know your facts first before you lecture others of their own heritage. Anyway, I'm proud of Cebu's prison's rehabilitation program which is a good example to other prisoners all over the world.
