This tone is this way because of using both pickups with a lot of treble on the amp. The pickups are out of phase to get the old Merle Travis sound. This guitar can sound like anything you'd want it to sound like.
Sounds good to me. That's a Shot Jackson Commemorative model, right? How close to the Permanent does this sound to Bobbee the wizard's ears, being that David made both. Have you tried the Blackjack & if so, what do you think. There is a video on YouTube and it sounds real good to my tin ears.

great playing but this Jackson guitar sounds a bit thin / tinny to me. Maybe its the amp settings ???
