@bren320 haha yea it was a pain. I only had the camera about 2 weeks prior to this and it was ticking me off so bad as you can tell when i shoot torwards all the white to try to get a sharper contrast so the dang thing would focus. i dont have quite as much trouble with it now but still not the greatest for paying $650
@bren320 oh its not a problem haha! thanks for the comments. criticism dont bother me one bit nor does it offend me in any way as everyones entitled to their own opinion and uploading a video to youtube and making it public is an invitation for anyone to post whatever they feel like posting :).
@drft4life - yeah, this is the only way il get to see awesome clouds like this on youtube because were i live we hardly get thunderstorms and when we do it sounds like thunders too stoned up to even make a little noise... :(
@pokachunk oh wow thats sucky yesterday we had a pretty good show but for some reason my lightning I recorded @ night is not showing up on the camcorder which im extremely depressed about haha.. I just uploaded a timelapsed video of the storm we got yesterday :)
definately... ive noticed things start slowing down in july and august but sometimes it can go passed that... i think we had some decent storms back in sept this year but i wasnt able to go out... late april/may/june is the best chances.
yea its the GZ-HD300... unfortunately this was shot prior to me understanding how to work all of the manual settings like shutter speed/wb and all of that... alot of points in this video it dropped to around 30 - 15 which is why it gets jerky...
I kinda understand it alittle more now but I have no storms to test it with... I have another video called HD Test using it in good lighting.
I got lucky on this one and seen it off to the west of joplin as I was coming home from work... got home with enough time to grab the cameras and get out the door just as all the wind/rain was hitting... had to race east to get ahead of it and ended up just west of sarcoxie lol. thanks for the comment!
Never have experienced a hurricane lol... this was just your typical gust front/lightning/hail/strong winds thunderstorm... I'm patiently waiting for some decent tornadic storms to come through though :P
nope what you see hanging down is just a shelf cloud :) that is commonly found with gust fronts... was just a severe thunderstorm... and even watching it (followed it for about 30 mins) I couldnt see any evidence of rotation...
I know what ya mean about how it wasnt stayin focused but you still did a good job with it..

Hmm, it shows you live in Atlanta.
That is not how a hurricane looks coming in, maybe the feeder bands, but that 'came itself.
