you titiled this right....my electric 4s edfs are 85mph level flight. what was that turbine for?.....would a 55mm edf epo work. like the banana hobby series??
@mythicalhell It was windy but the turbine wasn't producing nearly enough power to keep the model (safely) in the air. The owner will turn up the RPMs before trying again as it had been dialed back a little in the name of reliability.
@xjet oh ok, thanks for responding so quickly. I forgot to say that his jet is sweet looking too. I'm guessing (as a newb) it was electric converted to turbine. Anyway, sweet!
That was a shame but at least he had a go right ;-) oh you could also see where the turbine had burnt the foam on the inside but at least it got in the air and flew a circuit.
what,s the point of all those turbine,s which cost,s a lot of money and have no power but, I have to admit, it does look very scale flying because of the slow speed haha
@gripchion No, it was windy -- our airfield has three windsocks and they usually point in three different directions while indicating three different strengths. The camera also picks up wind noise quite readily.
@gripchion why the hell would you bother editing in fake wind noise anyway? its just a bloody pain to edit and to listen to. besides, that wind sock it miles away and may have even been sheltered by the trees
Is that the fastest it can go due to the lightness of the plane? Also, is that faster than the electric motors that seem to have been in her before? Thanks.
how muct the mini turbine cost?

was the flight slow and cut short due to the wind?

That plane would be worth over $2000 no?

Very cool, must say if one jet engine is ok... 2 would be really great

That was a great video. I did expect a little more speed, but the wind was obviously very strong.

This is one plane that perhaps it would have been better leaving the EDF's installed. ;-)

I haven't seen a turbine that small/lite before. How much does that little engine cost? Is it any cheaper than the larger versions?

Those had to be fake wind noises look at 3:29 the wind sock is limp!!!! Cool little setup, I do agree.
