I work for Caterpillar and our corporate office just released a memo to employees about the senate healthcare bill. After reading the bill it was determined that our healthcare costs will go up 20% the first year alone, due to this proposed reform bill. My senator, Claire McCaskill has shut her constituants out. Her office has not been accepting phone calls for a week now. When do we stop this insanity?

Keeps the insurance companies from denying coverage to people with pre-existing conditions my ass. They don't have to deny coverage anymore because the bill says they're allowed to charge people with pre-existing conditions 3 X more for insurance. They can't afford it anyway. They also gave the insurance industry a big fat raise. Instead of the fixed tax rate of $6.7 billion a year for the industry, they decided to make it $2 billion in 2011, with increases over time to $10 billion in 2017.
