Wow. That was really good! Dude can do some pull-offs! He definitely knows his instrument and has a great voice not to mention song writing skills! Nice package, very gifted, very talented.
This is a great version of this song. I like the way Chris strays from the original recording in his fills and solo and it stil sounds perfect. A true virtuoso.
Great version of Lighthouse Tale, that guitar player has some serious skill, he seemed to add a little more flavor to the original guitar recording by Nickel Creek.
I would like to hear him just playing mandolin. I dont mean he is a bad singer but I prefer him playing mandolin He can show more flavor and more virtuosismo because there ara a plenty singer like that , but a fews can play mandolin like that. Gracias.
Interesting observation @ 1:08. However, @ 2:30 I feel like throwing up listening to such sickening speed with nearly perfect technique. He's amazing. I don't really care what the "traditional" guys say about him.
I THINK HE is a great singer, but I wish that he would stick with nothing but NICKEL CREEK I wish they would be tight just like they use to be and stay that way for awhile anyway like they use too
It's "Lighthouse's Tale"...silly announcer. Anyway, great as usual. It sucks that Nickel Creek broke up...though Thile's solo work is still nothing short of amazing.
I love watching these guys play, man that mandolin solo was smooth. Chris is fast becoming my favorite mandolinist as he grows older. Will these guys ever record a duet album??
Hey! Kinda cute how Brian starts to give some options on the start and Chris gets a little verbally brisk: "Just do it, alright?" But, that's what he expects even of himself so, it's just a beautiful song and great musicianship from both.
he seems sorta depressed..?.. and he's always tire nowadays.. =\

the first little solo he did before the second verse, he looked like some kind of tough guy from the 50s

He gets a beautiful tone, strong but subtle, really impressive playing.

Bryan Sutton is about as good as far as modern flatpicking as you are going to get.

Well, he was filling in for the missing bass AND fiddle in this case, of course he did more filling and flavor!
