Well, usually if I need to tune my guitar and I'm using a capo... I take the capo off, then put it back on after it's tuned... maybe that would have helped, lol.
I do not believe he is looking at the bass player. I think he is looking at a member of the crew off to the side of the stage. He tunes his own guitar in between verses and choruses, making me assume that the tech screwed up the original tuning.
i finally get why the tune before every single song. there's three guitarists (now that tyler ramsey's permanent) so one slightly off guitar screws it all up
i think that the song is one of those songs that just puts you in a great place in your own thought kinda like "funeral" that one is my fav but i pretty much enjoy all there tunes great band
Hey johnielsen08, you're right. That's why he starts re-tuning his guitar. Previously I had stopped watching before that point. Great band. My favourite song of theirs is probably this one and Weed Party.
This is one of my favourite bands but someone is out of tune here and it sounds off. I think it's the second guitarist and by the looks that Bridwell keeps giving him I'd say he thinks so too. :) Top song though and what a beard!
It's about a BBQ joint near Sumter... Little Rib Shack; that's copywrighted now, so don't bogart it. In all nonseriousness at the foot of Pike's Peak, a campground has the same rooming accomadations mention in thgis song.
Actually, LRC stands for Little Red Caboose, which is a train car that's been turned into a getaway resort in the state of Washington. Ben stayed there and wrote the song based on the "logbook" at the LRC, which I also mistook as "lobby" when I first listened to the song...So the logbook had stories about a dog who kept showing up for food but stopped showing up in 1993, etc...I thought it was about the library as well, until Ben set me straight at a show...
This is my favorite song on Cease to Begin. Actually, this is my favorite song, period. I can listen to it over and over and over and over and love it more each time.
BOH are seriously talented. I would love to hear a duet with Colin Mely. The US have got sope prett hot talent around at the moment. Despite the fact that most, if not all of it, receives very little airtime. All the better for me!
the guitar is not out of tune you dumbass, it sounds bad on film, if you haven't noticed there an indie band, there not in drop d it sounds like that purposely.
actually, something IS out of tune. and it's in the low frequencies, so it's most likely ONE of the strings on the bass I think. Bad pitch has nothing to do with what media the recording is on, whether it's video, film, cd, lp or just live. And since when does being an "indie" band (whatever that means) mean it's ok to be out of tune? Bad tuning sounds horrible whether you play in Band of Horses or the Celine Dion band. Even Sonic Youth took care to sound collectively "in tune"
Mack Strong was a very accomplished player, one of the best.
Anyway, I am intrigued by the Rhodes sound here. I feel it is pivotal to the melancholic nature of the track but it always seems to get swamped in a live set. Its a delicate, warm sound that should be given sound space in the mix. On occasion I am at pains to recognise it at all.

yeah you can see hiim tuning it before "I see everyone before me" so obivously he was looking at his tech because his guitar wasn't in tune lol.

I love that look. Makes me glad I'm not in a band right now, it's the, "You're out of tune, asshole, and you're ruining the song for everyone," look.

What guitar is Ben Bridwell (lead singer) playing? It looks like a Gibson Les Paul Standard, but the headstock design is different. Anyone know?

It's a les paul custom
