Brad Renfro to this day remains my favorite actor, it still hurts though to see his films, but I feel it's disrespectful to not watch even though I tear up a bit. Yeah I'm a bit of a sap, but he was absolutely awesome. I'm sad that he's gone, but I'm very grateful that you've put this up. Thank you.

@firebreze25 - I had a buddy of mine that grew up in Oak Ridge take me there a few months before 10 Years asked me to do the video. Once Jesse and I had the concept for the video in stone I knew I to shoot there. The family that lives there was very gracious, even invited us all up to the house for drinks after we wrapped. Once I finished the video I dropped them off a copy of the finished video with a thank you note. No sweat, glad you enjoyed the video, I think it holds up well.

Where exactly is that? Just curious if it was shot up the road. thats all. I felt like he had this inner lonliness inside of him, sort of like what most famous people have but for him it was something more. How you say this is fan made is really stupid because any1 that listens to 10Years and knows "Wasteland" would realize that this sounds different than "The Autum Effect" version. The fact that he used his ability in the music industry to make a video dedicated to a family member whom it seems he was very close to shows he cared about him veyr much. I am not sure I am the most qualified to answer these questions as I wasn't there and don't have any first-hand accounts of Brad's life. I only knew him for a short time and could only develop my own understanding of his life through other people's recounts.

I did read several newspaper articles and celebrity rags that painted him in a negative light, albeit some of these clippings were accurate and brought on by Brad's actions.

Brad was far from perfect in his walk, but I see other people around him that had a huge impact on that walk and were instrumental in his demise.

In all things I think you will find a balance and rarely are people exactly as they seem or as they are portrayed. The Brad I knew had a hard time being happy, he was struggling to form a self image, he had a hard time connecting and preferred to remain detached, he was suspicous and insecure and self-concious and in the end self-destructive. That is only my opinion take it with a grain of salt.

3:30 .... his expression alone says a million words. One thing I've always noticed about Brad Renfro from all his movies ... there was a certain sadness in his eyes, even when he was a kid. He was able to pull off his emotions effortlessly just by the expression on his face. It's so sad that he's gone. There were so few actors that have the talent he had, so authentic. RIP, Brad.

This video was shot for the band in 2004. Most of the conceptualization was done by Jesse and then adapted to video. I met the band early in 2004 and we not only shot this video, but also put together several live videos and the video for the song Shelter. So, is it official? This is the video the band made when they didn't have money or label backing. It is the real story to the song as Jesse had envisioned it.

That's right - you can follow Brad's life metaphorically in the video, from the mean words spoken about him, to his alienation and isolation from friends and family to his ultimate explosive demise into a world he could not control. At one point just before his incineration Jesse is at the door coming for him, but he arrives too late and all is lost. Jesse concepted the entire video. The outdoor location is called Savage Gardens and the house belongs to Jesse's Mom. Just some fun facts.
