I would rather spend more money on fresh, healthy foods that I enjoy than buying processed foods. Also, these shopping tips are great if you live in an area where you can get meat for $ 0.99 lb but where I live (Alaska) that just isn't going to happen! I agree that you can save money and buy used clothing, but having no debt is just as bad as having too much. You need debt to maintain a good credit score. I'd rather have good credit than a stocked pantry.

Cheap processed food is very unhealthy! If you are only paying a couple more dollars for healthy organic, fresh, or non processed food, I say work an extra half an hour or hour to make that few extra bux so you can be healthy. Your only talking a couple cents to a couple dollars difference for processed meat as opposed to fresh meat. Or eat smaller portions...you lose weight AND can have leftovers the next day.

Unfortunately, buying cheap means buying non-organic produces that is grown with lots and lots of chemicals and are probably grown outside of the US. Meat that are cheap are usually left-overs and most likely coming from slaughter houses which are unethical. While they may be the 'cheapest family' in America - certainly not the most eco-conscious. I respect you a lot - but I personally grow my own vegetables. :)

you guys are awesome! My family has always lived like this...in fact, my father recently sent me a receipt in which the store ended up having to pay him to buy his groceries (all the coupons). This can be done, but it does take work. Love this family. Oh, and as a side note, nice to see how incredibly positive everyone commenting is. Seriously. Perhaps you should get off the computer and do something that makes you happy cause you're spreading no joy here.
