  • @dumbasscracker It's an ALCO MRS-1. ALCO and EMD MRS1's are pretty easy to tell apart once you know what you are looking for. The EMD MRS1's have almost a triangular peaked longhood and cab roof. ALCO's didn't.

  • @dumbasscracker MRS-1 ALCO and EMD both made them they can be hard to tell apart from each uther unles you know what to look for.

  • That is a cool place

  • Diggin the old PCC car. Just a couple days ago here in San Francisco 2 old streetcars on market streets historic F-line sandwiched an SUV and did quite a fantastic crunch job sending 6 folks to the hospital. apparently the operator on the rear streetcar was distracted talking to a passenger... hahaha, you should have seen it, that SUV is now 4 feet shorter.

  • @pgmoser Maybe someday we can get a flag stop here for Amtrak. So I don't have to drive a car humdreds of miles so I'd have it for a two mile drive from the hotel. ;(

  • Where is this place?

  • It sounds somewhat different than a "newer" Alco. Is it a 244 engine ?

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that one of those old ARMY ALCOs that had an adjustable wheel gage?

  • 244 prime mover Alco MRS-1 with adjustable wheel gauge

  • Wow, cool stuff!
