The thing that pisses me off about these stupid FPS fanboys is that they seem to just hate Mario.If Mario games are so bad,than how come every Mario game made by Nintendo has gotten reviews with ratings of 9 to 9.5.Also more recently,Super Mario 3D Land got a 10 from IGN.So Super Mario 3D Land surpassed that range.I have Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7,and they're both great games.
I agree with you, but I do think consoles matter somewhat. If someone is hating on a game simply because it's exclusive to a certain console, then that's retarded. The console itself is important though, and some are definitely better than others. Xbox for example is terrible. Sure, the console is something you play the game through, but I think it should be a requirement that the console actually plays the games. With the shitbox 360 it constantly breaks and is just overall deplorable quality.

The PS3 slim is pretty awesome too but personally I have never been big on sony. Ever since the PS1 the only reason I would get there consoles was for the really good games (Final Fantasy, God of War, Katamari, Jak and Daxter, Ape Escape, ect.) Cant forget that the PS3 fat failed alot too btw

It's annoying hearing people talk about one game or game series all the damn time. It causes me to think of said game as overrated which is what most mainstream things are. Black ops was fun, but it wasn't as good as everyone made it out to be. Bioshock on the other hand is underrated as well as Splinter Cell conviction.

I just get mad when it seems that that is all anybody ever cares about. I never hear people talk about the story of Halo saying its 'Long and complicated.' BS sure there is mythos but you want a long complicated and involved story. Two words Kingdom Hearts.

Its true that I can legally play them now but I still don't like a majority. My bro got an Xbox360 and as a result I have 2 games in my own Xbox library. Sonic Unleashed and Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. It pisses me off to no end that all people care about in games is online play. Its like the story the whole reason the games exists takes a back seat.
@KazeAizen Exactly, and that is not what gaming was supposed to be about. Online play has only been around for about 7 or 8 years at the oldest. Before then, people played games either with some friends at one house or by themselves. Me and mine always played MOH Rising Sun on the gamecube. And the games kicked ass. Now, games aren't shit if the online gaming sucks or is nonexistent. That is why awesome games like GTA 4 don't get any attention while other games like the equally awesome MW2 do.

GTA for having content I think is just plain inappropriate for a game. FPS for my others I won't go into. Honestly the majority of games I play don't receive any attention anymore and they are old franchises and some new such as Blazblue. Also the mainstream games all look the same honestly. I prefer stylized games like Sly Cooper. Games with an original look you no?

The last game that received that much hype was Brawl. Now its all about online and shooters. Personally most non-japanese games look the same to me. I mean overly realistic and such. Nothing stylized or original. Japanese games at least still have that. They for the most part have some unique characteristics about them.

In fact FPS games are about the only ones I don't play however I have given them a shot. I also prefer the less violent games. Look a Kingdom Hearts. Violent but not to much, Rated E - E10+, doesn't cuss and one of the most kick ass series of the newer generations. I actually hate M games because of all that stuff.

I didn't even say any thing bad all I said was I play a different fps(I don't have much variety in fps but I'm starting with crysis it gives me interest. CODs all seem the same to me I like to play games that have great storylines that last long unlike COD you can finish the story in lest then a week and all you can do with the game is do multiplayer. I played a mixture fps with rpg mixtures and even played splinter cell.Some of it i like and i even have played atari 2600 roms and found it to be enjoyable.I often go back to older games and often prefer the older rpgs to the newer stuff because i find that its inferior in some ways.

I'm an avid fps fan (NOT fanBOY), and generally, I dont like many newer games in general. For fps's, I hate almost every new one (they just aren't fun). Also, the PC is the best platform ever for fps's. (really, i started out with console, I'm never goin' back.) From the modding, to the controls, everything is better. (really, how the fuck are you supposed to aim worth shit with the controller?) Also, I'm a Sega Genesis fanboy :P

I guess I'm a bit of an artsy person but the whole reason a game exists is because there is a story to tell(Atari and NES are exceptions). I just get mad when it seems that that is all anybody ever cares about. I never hear people talk about the story of Halo saying its 'Long and complicated.' BS sure there is mythos but you want a long complicated and involved story. Two words Kingdom Hearts.

Its true that I can legally play them now but I still don't like a majority. My bro got an Xbox360 and as a result I have 2 games in my own Xbox library. Sonic Unleashed and Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. It pisses me off to no end that all people care about in games is online play. Its like the story the whole reason the games exists takes a back seat.

@KazeAizen Exactly, and that is not what gaming was supposed to be about. Online play has only been around for about 7 or 8 years at the oldest. Before then, people played games either with some friends at one house or by themselves. Me and mine always played MOH Rising Sun on the gamecube. And the games kicked ass. Now, games aren't shit if the online gaming sucks or is nonexistent. That is why awesome games like GTA 4 don't get any attention while other games like the equally awesome MW2 do.

@redshieldshatterer I do agree with you on some things however I will point out I do have a strong distaste for fps games and GTA. GTA for having content I think is just plain inappropriate for a game. FPS for my others I won't go into. Honestly the majority of games I play don't receive any attention anymore and they are old franchises and some new such as Blazblue. Also the mainstream games all look the same honestly. I prefer stylized games like Sly Cooper. Games with an original look you no?

@redshieldshatterer No one does anymore. Not even franchises that are still making new games. Kingdom Hearts, Zelda, and most Nintendo franchises that are still making new games. The last game that received that much hype was Brawl. Now its all about online and shooters. Personally most non-japanese games look the same to me. I mean overly realistic and such. Nothing stylized or original. Japanese games at least still have that. They for the most part have some unique characteristics about them.

And I'm sure there are better games, but I blame the elitist gamers and casual gamers for giving black ops more hype than it deserved. You know as black and white as that guy in the video may seem he does make very valid points. A bit extreme but valid.I intend to design games for a living. Bungie and Trayarc on not even on the list for my employers. Hopefully it will be Square Enix,Capcom,Sega,Arc System Works,or Lucas Arts.Not as much hype but enduring franchises.

@redshieldshatterer Capcom and Sega were my original favorites. I mean The Blue Bomber and The Blue Hedgehog. Two real gaming icons came from them. Well thank you. Hey if I might suggest something. A good fighting series is Blazblue. Its made by Arc System Works. They are the minds behind Guilty Gear. I found them recently and loved them. They are 360 and PS3 games. Just throwing out a suggestion. :)

Thank you so much man. You have no clue how much I identify with you. By your definition I am not a hard core gamer. However I think I am more hard core then the FPS guys. In fact FPS games are about the only ones I don't play however I have given them a shot. I also prefer the less violent games. Look a Kingdom Hearts. Violent but not to much, Rated E - E10+, doesn't cuss and one of the most kick ass series of the newer generations. I actually hate M games because of all that stuff.

I don't consider myself a hardcore gamer, because I'm...not very good at video games. But I still love them.
This console generation has disappointed me because I love platformers and jrpgs, both of which aren't around much. What I don't get is why FPS's are supposed to be hardcore and mario games aren't.
Food for thought: after this year's E3, NO ONE has a right to say the Wii's not hardcore.

Man, you must be extremely young if you just got Super Mario Allstars. I got that game after it came out. Of course I am 27 years old now, so most gamers are way younger than me and get the old games later obviously, but yeah its a pretty good game. For some reason I find something special about the old 8 bit versions of those games on the NES

I didn't even say any thing bad all I said was I play a different fps(I don't have much variety in fps but I'm starting with crysis it gives me interest. CODs all seem the same to me I like to play games that have great storylines that last long unlike COD you can finish the story in lest then a week and all you can do with the game is do multiplayer. I played a mixture fps with rpg mixtures and even played splinter cell.Some of it i like and i even have played atari 2600 roms and found it to be enjoyable.I often go back to older games and often prefer the older rpgs to the newer stuff because i find that its inferior in some ways.

Yep, absolutely. It's not about the violence or (supposed) realism... games are about pure FUN. If some people think enjoying games that don't make the blood pour out of the screen and drip onto your keyboard or gamepad is "ghey" or whatever, screw them.
It's the same thing with Pokémon. I really don't like the kind of kiddie style (on the surface) but the gameplay is just plain awesom. If the game is good enough I can live with colorful, happy-retard-world themes.

I'm an avid fps fan (NOT fanBOY), and generally, I dont like many newer games in general. For fps's, I hate almost every new one (they just aren't fun). Also, the PC is the best platform ever for fps's. (really, i started out with console, I'm never goin' back.) From the modding, to the controls, everything is better. (really, how the fuck are you supposed to aim worth shit with the controller?) Also, I'm a Sega Genesis fanboy :P
