Watch the singer's feet - he's using effects to raise his voice. Since he's not playing, ther's no other reason to be stepping on pedals. You can hear the effect at the end, when there is NO one talking to any of the stage mics, but somehow a Geddy-ish style voice is coming through. And you'll never get a Fender bass to have the bite and treble of a Rickenbacker no matter what you do. Guitarist has NO stage presence whatsoever, though he plays quite well.

It would be hella worth throwing my shitty Alex style on the floor with 3 other fans. I love this and my props to these guys for being that good UN-rehearsed. In all you criticism you failed to mention that the mark of a good musician is not the ability to copy but to preform, these guys bear the mark of that breed.

@Barry7777777 he's hitting an echo or delay pedal. sean jones doesn't need any effect to raise the pitch of his 'geddy-ish style' voice. I saw him perform live at the first RushCon in May of '01 at the Opera House in Toronto. He can just sing like that. Get over it.

@SteveShivik I'm the bassist on this vid. I'm playing through the singer's rig so I have no control over the volume, but it sounded fine while we were playing. This camera doesn't seem to pick up the bass very well. Remember that this is just a bunch of guys that get together for fun once a year and do these tunes in one take, with no rehearsal.
