  • I fucking love bumby

  • Child abuse is a hard topic to touch on, but i think this game did a pretty good job of portraying the damage it does and how it is sadly a reality, or rather- nightmare for those who were victims of such abuse. In Rule of Rose, which i think tried to do the same thing, i just didn't feel like it truely did what this game did. Mind u, it was trippy and creepy in it's own way and even had the same sort of atmosphere in some ways like this game (i think), i just feel like this game did it better.

  • The real Doll Maker should be Mark Ryden ... I think

  • People talking about Persona makes me realize that Maki from P1 is simalar to Alice. Queen of Hearts/Pandora, Ideal Maki/Wonderland Alice, Real Alice(Mentally scarred)/Real Maki(Low self esteem, frail, and has mommy issues). Different issue simalar results, though Maki could pull people into her mind and manifest monsters into the real world.

  • @vencugar I've seen the concept art, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Honestly my nightmares are worse.

  • I actully bought the art book to this game. Its a sighned copy aswell by McGee But bits of it are so creepy that they wierd me out and keep me up at night and I am now wondering if I actully want to keep it. Some of it hits a raw nerve with me. I couldnt belive it when I found out that this was the finall boss in the concpet art. Im now wondering if I should actully finnish the game! Whats annoying is i am supposed to see through all this shit and not get scared because I Am digital animator!!

  • @vencugar If you don't want the book, you can give it to me...

Yeah, I know what you mean about the concept art. It can remind you of some personal problems...but I kind of like how the game is willing to actually touch on some pretty hard concepts and what they do to people...

  • @vencugar Someone's been to Forbidden Planet ;)

  • Its kind of creepy but cool how he doesn't exactly "heal" children, just changes the nature of their insanity and traumas.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • okay...i brought the game on sale in dec AFTER ALL THESE YEARS! why aint i playing it? :/ i havent even come this far

  • I hate Dr. Bumby. Is a Asshole.

  • @Loveandlove16 Me 2!! Turning Alice into a prostitute Killing her family Making Lizzy Do things that she never wold do!! putting Alice in this Madness. The Bright Side Is That He Dies!

  • @hamham545 Alice isn't a prostitute, he never turned her into one.

  • @RawrLexiwtf I Know But Dr.Bumby WAS turning her into one

  • I wish she wasn't such a whiny bitch, in the first game she just "was". A silent badass. In this she just keeps talking and there is hardly any reflection or depth in regarding that all these monsters are her own minds doing: The selfhatred and selfloathing, Chesire cat should help her deal with it or gain some revelations.

Instead the Carpenter and the others just have no depth and you gain some insight in the background through deus ex machina events which remove any sort of accomplishment.

  • @JonathanXLindqviust

Actually I found Alice from the first game to be more "whiny" because she cried alot when every time one of her allies dies even before the actual final battle with Queen's 2nd form of course the the main reason being because she was still traumatized, depressed and suffering from survivor's guilt at the time and of course it's the other reason Alice was so timif and silent in the first game.

  • @JonathanXLindqviust

While here in this game she's more talkative and active and if you ever noticed she hasn't cried once in this game because she overcame her survivor's guilt which is why Alice is completely different here. Although I wouldn't describe her "whiny" here.

  • you know how people make songs out of random sayings from movies (jar of dirt, put that cookie down!)? i want someone to make a song of him saying the train poem :D

  • is this the end

    ?

  • Right here is where i feel really bad for alice. since she got betrayed in so many different ways and by the same person. I understand her shock and frustration well. The voice acting is freaking beautiful and so real along with the tone of Alice.

  • so, what was the deal with the evil train?

  • gee I wish you didn't spoil the whole game to me fuck

  • @boypaslot Why did you look up the last fucking boss then. Of course people are going to talk about the game.

  • @boypaslot You shouldn't be watching Alice Madness Returns videos if you didn't want it to be spoiled.

  • too bad the game was so repetitive and plain boring..

first one trumps it by far

story is fun, too bad i saw it coming from miles away, im sure everyone did

  • When I first saw this guy...

I stopped playing and deeply disturbed, I stared at him for about a minute before moving again.

  • @RinLockhart The concept art...Is much worse.

  • Am I the only one who totally sees a resemblance between the Dollmaker at the dad in Coraline?

  • @XbloodyXsuicideX Okay thanks, i really wanna play thegame now....

  • Original...We meet at last.

  • I dont know the plot to well and i came across this video by mistake, but how is he perverted?

  • @cenderelric13 The doll maker (Who is Alice's and the other children's psychiatrist) is basically making them forget, he takes them in, does sessions with them and makes them forget bad memories, but also pretty much empties their head, so they're essentially mindless zombies. And then he sells the children as prostitutes.

  • @XbloodyXsuicideX Makes you wonder how in the world this managed to be sold in stores. Yes, I know it's rated M but think about it.

  • @RinLockhart Yeah I guess so. I mean..there are much worse games than this, and I bet a lot of people don't even think about the meaning behind everything in the game, they just see it as another game to play :P

  • @XbloodyXsuicideX The Persona games from Atlus is another example of that but that's a totally different story.

  • @RinLockhart I've never played that game....I'm interested now...might look them up. :P

  • @RinLockhart lol whats with persona have to do with this game.

sorry i don't know what going on in your conversation. although am bit curious cause persona seem to related.

  • @XbloodyXsuicideX So technically hes just selling the kids bodies?

  • @Rose5468 Essentially. Pretty messed up huh?

  • @XbloodyXsuicideX yeah. god they made an awesoem and freaky game

  • @XbloodyXsuicideX What an asshole Bumby is...

  • @XbloodyXsuicideX The low income of a doll maker is obviously what brought him into exploitation on children. Same goes with the salary of his second career. Which he make use of his ability to manipulate young minds to make them as empty shells; Mindless. Profiting his abilities to promote his income has made him too ambitious that discard his conscious of the abuse of children. The sad truth behind his nature is that whatever he is in control or not; he is considered a slave; A puppet.

  • @XbloodyXsuicideX Oh my gosh!!! It's amazing to me how shameless he acts. As if he's done absolutely nothing wrong.

  • I prefer the Queen. She's more charismatic.

  • Comment removed

  • i hated it when i finished the game i wanted it to last longer

  • "As you wish!" DON'T RUIN WESTLEY FROM PRINCESS BRIDE FOR ME, BUMBY!!!!

  • @CarmelitaLeFink

Bumby RUINS' everything he touches (a significant pun because that's where the Ruin enemies come from.)

  • "The train is coming with it's shiny cars. Comfy seats and wheels of stars. So hush my little ones have no fear, the man on the moon is the engineer"

It never ceases to amaze me how children rythms are so scary when said in the apropiate way

  • @DevilishmanThe

So true .__. it's like the prayer "Now I lay down to sleep, i pray the lord my soul to keep..." etc etc etc[i know that's not 100% correct but it's something like that lol] & the way that prayer was said in this one movie makes it sounds so creepy .w.

  • @laur121212 why the fuck did people spam this?? that was funny

  • @DevilishmanThe It's unsafe to be a child.

  • @DevilishmanThe What does this song mean originally?

  • @DevilishmanThe So what does this song originally mean?

  • @Rose5468 I think the song is original from the game, but it is said in a typical childish fashin: with rythm, wonders, etc... It's the atmosphere that makes it creeepy

  • @Rose5468 It's a children's lullaby. It doesnt have much meaning outside of this game.

In game I like to think of it as Bumby's "fixing" the children and having the children believe what he's saying.

  • fucking terrifying.. =_=;;

  • This is fucking terrifying.

  • Dollmaker like cry ink.

  • am i the only person who wasnt freaked out by this? :/

  • lol, with all the sick, twisted, sexual and perverted things in Wonderland, Pedobear as a boss or mini boss would fit nicely with the game.

  • This is fucking sick, creepy and insane... i fucking love it

  • Pause the video a few seconds in...creepy, does he have doll's eyes?

  • .....OH FUCK I DON'T LIKE HIM HE SCARES ME SILLY.

  • cool, a chucky maker

  • It's astounding how detached this game is from the original story. Yes. It does talk about the death of Alice's family but, people don't pay attention that Alice actually left the asylum fully content with her life after facing wonderland. But then this? Well, yeah. I still enjoy this game but wow. What a change in storyline...

  • @RinLockhart

It isn't a change. She came back. (As said multiple times by different characters) When she wakes up at the end, it seems to be a paradox of sorts. Because it seems this wonderland happens both after American Mcgees wonderland, and at the same time, as she wakes up in the asylum at the same time that both the queen in the first game dies and the doll maker in this game dies, yet the alice that is talking to bumby somehow ceases to exist and the wonderland alice to take her place.

  • @basketballman33 I don't get it.

  • @basketballman33

The Asylum scene where Alice wakes up after killing the Dollmaker is just a epiphany scene, Moorgate Station is what really happening in reality.

  • @RinLockhart

The story is not actually detached, the first game is about overcoming her inner demons and the second game is about overcoming the physical world. Also the ending of the first game was a over the top "happy ending" (which is what she imagines herself to be) that didn't imply what happened afterwords if you realized that she has no one to go to with her family being dead which she might be living in poverty and there had to be something more about the fire because it was so vague.

  • @zonilo1 It sure felt detached to me, but that's my opinion.

  • @RinLockhart

Although it isn't detached if you observe what's going on. The ending of the original game is basically what she felt when she overcame from her survivors guilt and became sane again.

  • This was really not something I should look just before I go to sleep. So,.. someone please explain to me, the phsychiatrist raped Alice??? Did he kill her family? !

    D:

  • @meshi1990 Dr. Bumby raped and it's somewhat implied that he killed Alice's older sister Lizzie. He then preceded to set the downstairs library on fire to cover up his crime. Alice was the only one to survive the fire and after 10 years of being institutionalized, she was released into Bumby's care at the orphanage where he uses hypnotherapy to erase the memories of the children and turn them into future prostitutes. He almost got away with doing the same thing to Alice.

  • @Umbra16

There's actually a deleted fourth confrontation at Moorgate Station that confirms that Bumby raped and murdered Lizzie before starting the fire as addressed by Alice herself.

  • im cosplaying dollmaker bumby :D.... just have no idea what to do for the eyes ...x__x

  • @MOOX3XP

    Would this cosplaying fad stop?

  • @zonilo1 no... and its not a fad. It's and art.. as long as you know how to do it properly

  • "The train is coming with its shiny cars. With confy seats and wheels of stars. So hush my little ones and have no fear. The man in the moon is the engineer....................." sounds creepy when he slows down and deepens his voice

  • Oogie Boogie from TNBC is the Engineer of that train???

  • I find this especially disturbing given all the pedophile-accusations towards Lewis Carroll back in the day. Its like the game literally stood truthful to the more darker aspect of the original story with this one, it didn't just "goth" it up.

  • ...Holy shit.

  • Great...

  • :D his face is screwed up but his hair is still fine :D

  • This whole part of the Dollhouse level reminded me of the movie The Cell.

  • @UndyingSimmons

The entire level is actually based on the Brother's Quay (as the creators have admitted especially "Street of Crocodiles") and Jan Svanksmajer's works.

  • @zonilo1 Really? That's interesting, man. Thanks for the info I'll have to look that up.

  • that's it bitch you has to die >:o

  • lol, he has chocolate fudge coming out of his eyes XD

  • @tropicwildfire

    Or rather oil...

I think they were making a commentary on BP at the time they were making this (infact I remember Mcgee saying one of his tweets that they should put a "BP" logo on final boss's forehead which is now the Dollmaker..)

  • @zonilo1 The substance that surrounds his mouth and flows from his eyes is the Corruption in it's raw form, almost similair to the corruption that is spread by Ahriman from the 2008 Prince of Persia game, especially in the way some of the enemies are formed from it, such as the Ruins.

  • @shadowblade17

Or another thought I just realized what the Black Ooze is from a surrealist perspective...it's actually the black ooze of forgetfullness...

  • @zonilo1 That too, I suppose.

  • anybody else but me wanna just go and strangle the bloody hell out of him???

  • this part reminds me of dantes inferno when hes at the first gate off hell and hes gonna e judged by that big monster that is blind and can smell what you've done

  • @jerremiaegels

    Who, King Midon?

  • I'm in love with that cutscene. Really.

  • I just realized...Bumby/Dollmaker is ZALGO....

  • @zonilo1 zalgo? who is that supposed to be? the voice actor?

  • @iclark2400

It's a Creepypasta meme, look it up.

  • Now if only someone could get the music up.

  • Bad things happen to us because we should learn from it, not forget about it. Even if we move on, we have bad memories left just to remind us. Moving on and forgetting is not the same thing, cause if we forget that bad thing, then there was no point in suffering from it. It makes us stronger to remember and move on

  • These poems are everywhere wheree are they from and what do they measn?

  • I am still asking myself HOW someone could think fo something this....sick? Its fascinating and somehow really cool. But on the other hand..its SICK

  • @1337Diamos Complex minds are very capable of thinking up stuff this sick. Having sick views of things is an area in creativity.

  • i'm making a story similiar to this, and there's a character in it called the Dollmaster. he does make dolls but life-sized female ones, and he's a good guy too. does that sound too much like plagarism?

  • BEST VOICE ACTING EVER! T_T

  • Dont worry alice im coming to save you so we can make our own family and live hapily everafter ... :D dont blame me if i have fallen inlove with this perfect program

  • I scared the shit out of my friend. She called me she was like hi whats up.She and i chatted a but then we got to insane people then i went into my croaky voice. The train comes with shiny cars comfy seats and wheels of stars so hush my little one have no fear the man in the moon is the engineer. You lost and where your body is your mind will follow perhaps its already there.she hung up like that and i laughed my ass off

  • the voice of wesker is the best :3

  • For some reason i just want to meet the dollmaker

    He is horrifying :o

  • the dolls with hair look like chucky

  • Mr Dollmaker? My name is Chris Hansen. Why don't you take a seat over here?

  • @julio13wrathchild Now, I understand that you pride yourself as a doctor of child psychology? I have a few chat letters here that describe another career you seem to have...

  • @julio13wrathchild LOL GOOD ONE!! :P hahaha

  • misbegotten... THATS FROM AMERICAN MCGEES!!

  • This to me was the most disturbing part of the game. Not even directly because of the visuals, but because of the implied horror. The way he dehumanizes the children while they're still struggling and crying is incredibly unsettling. It's even more unnerving when you realize that this sort of thing did happen in Alice's day, and continues to happen.

  • @Tufticles

Yep, the scariest fact is that there are people like Bumby out there today but the worst part their lurking in the shadows unpunished (mainly because many of them are wealthy...).

  • Comment removed

  • @Tufticles yeah it was very disturbing and Bumby is the real psycho, not Alice...I feel bad for what he did to her, but in the end all wrongs were made right if u finished the game...the human mind is a very complex machine, and the way that Alice copes with the tragic death of her sister and parents is not far fetched at all, and if u ask a psychologist I'm sure he/she will tell you that this is one way patients block the painful memories out, by creating their own wonderlands in their minds

  • Comment removed

  • @zonilo1 I got a reply notification from you about this post, but it now says 'comment removed' so why did you remove it? you had a good point to make, there indeed are twisted, manipulative people in the real world like Bumby who take advantage and prey on the weak and vulnerable for their own twisted gratification and self-satisfaction, which I think is perverse and to a degree sick! one example is Joseph Fritz, the dungeon rapist from Austria...look what he did to his own daughters, so sick!

  • @Tufticles It gets worse. If you look at the Doll Girls, when you rip off their clothing, they cover themselves up...almost as if they were trying to stop someone from...touching them in certain areas.

  • @Tufticles Not only that, but hes also CASUALLY SPEAKING to alice as hes doing that (No real emotion/change of voice or anything been said to the children as he works besides for the taunting poem) , and near the end of this cutscene almost seeming to get pleasure or some sick sense of humor from it.

  • @Tufticles Not to mention the music.

  • if he turns his head, those black things that are comming out of his eye's are falling to the right.

  • "The man in the moon is the engineer" that part is so awesome, i would listen to it all day!

  • press 4

  • i can honestly say i never expected him to be the one behind all this, bt i did know there was something off about him from the very beginning, and the last liddel door in the game i thought the killer looked like him...

  • The steamdress is my favorite throughout the whole game

  • Is it strange that I find this so beautiful?

  • @XxHeartagramHeavenxX Even horrible things can be beautiful if you look at them from a certain angle :)

  • @XxHeartagramHeavenxX Nop, I agree.

  • @CheatsythePimp

The same person who voices Angus Bumby, since they're both the same person.

    Alistair McGowan.

  • Training ground for Prositutes XD

  • The Dollmaker's form makes me sick.

I'm SOOO not gonna watch it while I'm eating lunch...

  • GAH! Cliff hanger! What happens?! D: I knew Dc.Bumby was not to be trusted from the very beginning! >:C

  • Lol the blood goes where his chin points at

  • that's one of my favorite dresses lol. im using the Caterpillar one now on my 2nd playthrough to find stuff. I like Silk Maiden the most .lol

  • I loved her outfit and the game looks awesome

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder if it was just a quinsidence but seeing how there is a poker card theme going on in Alice in wonderland (For example the queen of hearts) I can't help but notice that the dollmakers fingernails are the same color as the basic poker card colors red and black.

  • @AlluMan96 Yes, there are many hidden symbols in this game... Thats also what I like about it

  • I knew there was something not right about that shrink..

  • @TrettaM

Yep I knew from day one that something wasn't right about him which intro ("Don't Struggle Alice Let the New Wonderland Emerge") and also the rather creepy suspicious close up when he's says to Charlie "Let's Forget that shall we? The Past is dead is Charlie" was another sign that there's something suspicious about him and his "therapies" (is that he ever does is making people forget?). Also those who got the art book before the game's release didn't help much either.

  • @TrettaM

I would also like to point out that you get your very first Bumby memory shortly after killing the first Ruin enemies...also very suspicious aswell.

  • @chuchielittlemonster Bumby was shaping the children to be mindless prostitutes or other perverse needs the degenerates of society may have for them. The doll face are artificial and with no independent characteristic, a toy and disposable. You could even say that the doll face dehumanizes them making their suffering or abuse trivial.

  • Memories cannot be erased, only lost

  • Y do they call it a bitch baby?

  • @Rishaeel BECAUSE THAT BABY IS A BITCH

  • does she stop the train or just bumby it´s look´s like that

  • @crazydikte24 the train is the manifestation of Bumby's misdoings. Stopping Bumby would stop the other.

  • I knew Dr. Bumby was up to something from the start. He kept trying to get alice to forget her family and memories, so she could become a puppet, and be a prostitute just like all the other orphans.

  • @Miikoong904

Oh God, seriously, how much more detestable can you GET? I don't think it's humanly possible.

He raped Lizzie, killed her, then killed her ENTIRE family, save for Alice, just for good measure, doomed Alice to an asylum for 10 years, created an orphanage to be used for indoctrinating children and using them as prostitutes, then when Alice got a little better, he tried to erase her memory and use HER as a prostitute.

All while claiming it's the right thing to do.

    Just..wow.

  • @UshiromiyaReiji

Actually I think Bumby was intending to sell Alice into prostitution like the other children as a matter of discarding.

  • i love the language it uses

  • The dollmaker is truly one of the best villians in recent memory. I hope in one form or another he makes a return.

  • Did you notices how the slim/goo flow out?

  • "Hush little children have no fear, the man in the moon is the engineer..."

That line gave me shivers... actually, everything about him gives me shivers XD. Absolutely love how they made the Dollmaker.
