@knansd We're talking about the greatest LAKER!!! Not the greatest player, which means that we can only consider the years they spent in Lakers jerseys. Kobe's number 2 Laker of all time, behind Magic only.

Shaq was in his prime when they won the 3 titles, and Kobe was not. But Kobe has played 8 more seasons with the Lakers, winning 2 more rings and 3 more conference titles without Shaq.

Wilt's prime years were not in LA, please learn your history before talking nonsense.

@knansd Kobe was 21, 22 and 23 yrs old when they won their titles. So, NO, he wasn't in his prime - the fact that he was no. 1 or 2 best SG at that young age just shows how great Kobe was.

Shaq was very very dominant, but Kobe's played for the Lakers twice as much as Shaq, and was - longevity matters big time!

As for Kareem, I said that an argument can be made for him, it's not outrageous, so I'm not even gonna argue that.

As for Shaq and Wilt, you have no good argument lol.

I'll give you Kobe as the most complete offensive player of all time, he does everything excellently. Doesn't make him the best Laker of all time though. Kobe being 1 or 2 at that young, also shows how watered down the SG position was then, ha!

Longevity doesn't matter in this argument. Kobe will have more minutes played than any Laker, cause he came straight out of HS. Doesn't mean anything. Kareem, Magic, Shaq, Wilt, Kobe, sorry!

@knansd So to support your argument you're using one of the biggest Finals MVP travesties in history? Kareem was the true MVP of the 1980 Finals, averaging 33 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks per game. Magic played 1 historic game, but the rest of the Finals he was the Kobe to Kareem's Shaq.

If we talk greatest players, u could put Shaq and Wilt above Kobe (although I think ur wrong on the Shaq part). But when talking about LAKERS, only Kobe, Magic and Kareem can be in the discussion.

Lakers were supposed to dominate the Pistons in '04, & Boston in '08. Jordan would never have allowed his team to get outplayed, and wouldn't have performed as poorly as Bryant did against Detroit, and wouldn't have allowed a team to come back from a huge deficit like Boston did. Kobe's not even the best Laker, he's behind Kareem & Magic!
