If you want to really understand how liberal Jesus was, you need to know two things, first of course, what Jesus taught by his words and by his life, but also WHAT the word "liberal" really means as opposed to the stupid things conservatives THINK it means.

@Tony63efc, In 1993 Germany the three leading parties were Liberal, (Social Democrats) Catholic (Center Party) and Conservative (Nazi). Instead of siding with the Liberals (God forbid!) to defeat the Nazis, the Church disbanded their party, told their members they were free to join the Nazis, and the rest is history!

Thank you for that well-thought out response to the question. I think you nailed the crux of it on the head: Jesus would challenge the way the world thinks today, not embrace it and "choose" a side.
