my major complaint about this rising "djent" scene is that its a fucking rich man's scene, exclusively. They act like they're underground because they produce their shit on a laptop but only a rich ass nigga could afford 4 axe-fx. Plus all the fucking custom guitars this guy owns.
@NecroButcher91 Well, not really. It is very possible to have a Djent band and be poor.
I am "rich", but me and my band have a similar tone to Djent (although we have changed it slightly because we don't want to rip off other bands and, to me, it doesn't sound like it has enough bottom end.)
@NecroButcher91 He isn't rich, he lived with his parents for a while, and worked a shitty job to save up money. They penny pinched to get what they wanted.
Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but that photo was an april fools joke that misha played on the guys at SS.org. Its completely Photoshopped. He did play Doug's (Blackmachine) F8, but the number of Axe-Fx's is completely ridiculous. Nobody would want that many. He made a joke that he could record something like 8 tracks at once with the harmonizer effects.
@TruNikkaz Bassist uses a pod live. Most likely theres one fore each guitarist and one purely for recording purposes (3+1=YAY!). Might even use that pod on floor for recording bass, but I doubt it.
Dude you realize this is the only cover of this song including the solo on the entire fucking internet?????? YOU NEED A VIDEO SO WE CAN SEE WTF IS GOING ON!
depending on the tuning and string gauge, you need a certain Scale Length (distance between the nut and 24th fret), the longer the scale length, the more clear the lower tunings will sound without using huge strings because distance adds string tension. the smaller the scale length is, the less tension there is
on an 8 string ibanez, the scale length is 28" and people complain about not being able to bend and that the notes sound different because of the scale length
@TruNikkaz The scale length is technically the distance between the nut and bridge saddle, although I know what you mean. 7-strings should never be less than 25.5" and 8-strings almost never below 27" scale lengths. Yay!
fanned frets offer a solution to that problem of not having enough distance or too much distance for good intonation and a playable guitar, it causes the scale length to be longer where the strings are thicker, and smaller where the strings are thinner, so you can have a long enough scale length to tune super low without using huge gauges and sounded like pure airy bass, but can also make bends and have warmer, less trebly higher notes
@jajajah86 it's easier to play cuz it follows the turn of your hand as you move higher up the fretboard, and if you have an 8 string you can tune to a high a
yea btw this vid/song isnt me, this track is bulb's. check the other bulb uploads i have
but i myself do have an axefx ultra yes, and they are the best musical invention period in my opinion
so much hype in boutique gear, but this is hands down the most simple, advanced, convenient and powerful piece of equipment i have ever seen
i have a caparison horus, the same ibanez S 7 string jake from periphery has, and a michael sherman fanned 8 string coming but the axe is still the coolest
Is it just me or is the neck on that guitar twisted!

P.S We don't play a djenty tone for the sake of playing a djenty tone. We play what suits the song/mood.
However I can see why you might be frustrated, but I don't believe it is an exclusivly rich man's scene.
