  • @jmar1371 I know. It sucks that the taxpayers are always burdened. I decided I didn't want money and wanted something meaningful at least included instead. Well, politics and civil law is all about money, so I just ended up going for less on condition that the DPD Training Bulletin be included as a condition of the settlement. That bulletin was the real victory, the substance, but I'd rather a real police oversight board be established, lawsuits don't solve the problem. Thanks for commenting :)

  • The problem with receiving a settlement here is that the settlement is paid by the taxpayer, not the cop. Start taking the settlements out of police paychecks, and it may have an effect.

  • You ask for his card and you ge arrested. Dont you know you have to bow in front of a police officer.

  • LOL, and they wonder why their 'brother' pulls over a suspect and gets killed.

  • Sociopath Cop.

  • "Can I have your business card!"

"OKay pal you're going to jail!"

  • Nobody likes cops. Hell, the don't like each other.

  • Do they have an IQ test for cops? Some of them don't seem overly bright. Also I suspect many of them are suffering from roid rage judging by the way they fly off the deep end.

  • @MrJackShrredder You know you could be on to something. Maybe it would be worth it to propose a departmental ordinance to City Council that all Denver Sheriffs and Police undergo a mandatory rectal exam before resuming duty. LOL!

  • Did anything happen to the cop, or was he permitted to just waste public resources on a whim???

  • @tharock220 In 2006-2007 I filed a lawsuit with the ACLU and won a settlement that included a Training Bulletin publicly issued to every pig on the force reminding them that they can't harass members of the public for observing, they can't arrest people in retaliation for asking for badge numbers, and when asked for a business card/badge number they must provide one on the spot - a Departmental Ordinance. It is also available online at the Colorado ACLU website.

  • @pazyamor07 he asked for his ID for which he gave it to him,hm when asked for the card from the cop he was arrested. It seems the guy belonged in the area. This cop needs to be shown the door without pay for a while and if there is a "repeat",fire him.And let it be a gentle reminder to his co-workers that of they decided to pull the same shit that is what is in store for them.Hopefully thr Denver PD is reading this.

  • denver cops are assholes I've been arested by them a few times for doing nothing wrong............I used to live there a few yrs ago,.........

  • midnight knock is getting closer and closer ,listen can you hear it?its on its way ,midnight knock you had better pay attention if you dont believe it remember nazi germany

  • @robinhoodintn1 This was in 2006, I sued and Denver chose almost immediately to settle so that is hardly Nazi Germany, however, pay close attention to independent press and blogsphere because you're right if you think things are heating up in just that way. Clearly it is the case.

  • @pazyamor07 well you chose to take money over see justice served. So ya nazi germany....

  • @blueshiftchess you didn't read the article, or you are a pig on a different dept., or you'd know that my settlement included issuance of a training bulletin to the whole force reminding them that they must give their badge numbers/business cards when asked, and I made sure that bulletin is available to the public, so others can mention that, or even show a copy, when a pig squirms out of giving a badge number. And there is no justice in impunity for violent pigs! Pay attention next time!

  • @pazyamor07 thats cool you made them read a bulletin. your on copwatch and you believe they read these bulletins. oh no a bulletin. theres no justice in a settlement. You can justify it how you want. But basically you give most the people who do this a bad name, as they actually see justice served not look for a hand out and get smoke blown in there ear. people have known bout the business cards for years. Nothing new here... this guy was on a authoritarian power trip and you failed the test.

  • Comment removed

  • Isnt police state America so lovely...

  • The time will come....Or has it, when "Bad police officers" end up getting shot by disgruntled citizens? Funy fow police shootings are on the rise around here (Philadelphia, Pa). Maybe some deserve it but the shame is good officers are paying the price too

  • That asshole cop sure had the cuffs on him fast!

  • Thank goodness for the ACLU.

  • Shit, not that its right or anything... but you guys complain about the cops in the US?? Come down to Mexico City... you'll LOVE our cops. They wrongfully arrest ANYONE (white, black, purple, or green) EVERY NIGHT. I've been wrongfully arrested twice.. and im a 24 year old kindergarten teacher!

  • So start a Mexico City CopWatch. Document that they do this and show the world, see how long it lasts. Word to the wise, in the U.S. we have the ability to use media to assert our rights, and you won't be able to do that in La Cuidad México D.F. so I would do it discretely if I were you. Secretly videotaping police can logically be dangerous so be careful. Why we do this in the U.S. is partly because we can. Here you use your rights or we all lose them. That's how it tends to work.

  • I feel sorry for you but hey, After what I heard on the news about Mexico getting up-in-arms about them loosing jobs to china, sorry to say but fuck Mexico. Now people down there get a feeling of what I had to endure when auto work was sent to Mexico. Sucks, huh

  • No, f*ck China, the United States and Western Europe. Why do the oppressed of the rich countries always jump to blame the poor that are as much victims of the rich countries' bullsh*t as their own citizens, such as yourself? Why can't you see who your real friends are, rationally speaking? Why be obsequious to those who rob you and cheat you straight to your face under cover of law, Americans? Picking on the little guy, the easy target, proves weakness in the face of a small challenge of logic.

  • @caneywaney ....thats cuz your an idiot..that comment had nothing to do with the vid...so you suck dick...mexico rules puto

  • The World would be in a terrible state if Police weren't around, but it would be better if they were gone...

  • fucking pig. i hate cops the only good cop is a hmmm.

  • The logic used by SOME cops doesn't make any sense. The police where I own a building, asked if I could install a surveilance camera because the building has a good perspective of the street. It isn't a bad area, it just has a good view. To think that they want cameras on buildings but as soon as you put a camera in your hand and walk around with it, they develop a bad attitude. They seem to be enforcing their personal rules instead of the law.

  • Police were good in Nazi Germany. Police were good for Stalin. Police were good for Mao. Police are all good in Mexico. There is no police corruption, no drug dealing, the police do nothing wrong........?????

  • Its good that the police arrest you for asking them for there card. Its good and its pro American that they beat up woman and the handicapped in public. They rule and you sir are with Al-Qaeda. If a cop wants to beat you up you tell him thank you and take your own head and smash it into a brick.

  • You should post your name and case information so we can Google you. (or better yet, use some search engine that does not cooperate with fascist govts. like China)

  • Just click on "Statistics & Data" and look under "Sites linking to this video" and you will find links to the ACLU website where there is more press information and links to case information.

  • I was told a long time ago that most of the men who go into law enforcement do so that they may carry the ultimate penile substitute; a gun. You may supply your own ideas as to why females go into this field. Do I like cops? Not especially. I've seen far too many abuses of power by cops in real life.

  • I am a nine year police veteran. My father was a 20 year police veteran. I have busted my ass "serving and protecting". DO NOT make any judgments about videos posted by "copwatch" type groups without knowing all the facts. These groups seem to twist the facts and hate all Govt. !

  • We thrive on not twisting the facts, which is what you cops do, but most of all I want to address the fact that you, sir, in appearing to be the product of generations of nepotism, have an obviously biased perspective. We film and let the camera do the talking, and because our film often refutes the lies told by cops in court in contempt...you accuse us of twisting facts? The fact that people like you police our streets is why CopWatch is so necessary.

  • Furthermore I like effective oversight boards, I have certain respect for the courts, especially given the important role of the Supreme Court, which you probably are incapable of understanding. I also happen to like certain government officials that I helped to elect, so you can't say CopWatch volunteers are people who "hate all Govt. !" CW volunteers could be anyone except cops. We are the public, we are everywhere and we are everyone but YOU!

  • Yeah, right. Cops are always truthful. /sarc

  • I just read in the "more info" section that the charges were dropped, and the ACLU is taking action against this PIG!!

  • The police can't force you to show I.D. if you're not being arrested, that's what attorneys have informed me. After all, this isn't Nazi Germany where we all have to carry our papers.

Police can't arrest unless the owner of the private property files complaint! This is your typical lying, criminal pig. I'd like to see how many lies (perjury) he tells in his report in order to cover-up his crime of criminal confinement. Cops have committed similar crimes (even worse) against me.

  • And we PAY these dipshits to "serve and protect" us? Police unions only serve to protect incompetent sociopaths.

  • Police know they are dirty, that's why they don't like to be filmed, they want to beat and mistreat people, they take out there frustrations of their marriages and whatever else out on citizens. They are too stupid to hold those badges and are given too much power. They are the front line to the Americas new and coming holocaust. Take care of yourselves out there. Plus, we have the right to watch what our cops are doing, because if we don't they will get away with everything like they have been

  • Get a life!

  • Officer Porcine: "Can you move into the alley?"

Cameradude: "No problem(that part seems kinda crucial); can I have your card by the way?"

    Porker: "You're under arrest."

That about sums it up, right?

  • WAY back, 40-50 yards, from the incident? What kind of lot? Did the officer conclude that the owner of the private property was complaining that you specifically were trespassing. Had property damage occurred with a bystander to catch it on film for his/her insurance co.? Even though you were cooperating, it also seemed as if the stand-by officer snapped at an instant when he didn't get his way even though this property thing was a very GREY topic. Serenity now, serenity now

  • How can I get involved in COP watching where I live? Upper Michigan..

  • You can start a CopWatch on your own in your community, it's not difficult. The best thing to do to get started is search for your state laws and city ordinances online, and get to know who runs your police department (Chief, Mayor etc.) and watch "These Streets Are Watching," the copwatch training video/documentary. It's easy to find on that well-known search engine that starts with a "G."

  • i know how you feel man, i went threw a similar incident. this is just yet another piece of proof that shows how much of a police state this country is becoming.

  • Wronful arrest? What the heck is that supposed to be? Its best not to interfere with the police officers who are trying to make an arrest. When are you guys going to LEARN? The officers are just doing their jobs. You are only trying to make their jobs difficult. Thats the way it works.

  • That is not "the way it works," that is the fantasy TV planted in your head. In the USA you have rights, and city cops are PUBLIC servants, NOT secret police. You have the right to observe them, know their identities, and you have the obligation of using these rights if you want to have them at all.

  • Wow elisan693 last time I checked this was America and not Iraq! It people like you that believe in totalitarian goverments. Its not illegal to film police officers.

  • And why, because officers are better himans, or what. If cops do the wrong thing, we have the right to tell them! If not we are lining in a facist police state. If you like that, well go for it, but I like it most, to have inalienable rights.

  • Awesome! Thanks for this happening to you! I'm a more informed and brave citizen because of it.

  • Also google-video "These Streets Are Watching" by Jacobzladder. It's a training video/documentary that is a helpful tool in starting a Copwatch group in your community.

  • I just watched this again and realized how messed up it was. Arrested for asking for a card? I'll google you right now. Brb.

  • "Get a job loser." How original. I'll tell you what, I'll get a job when you get a life.

  • Get a job loser.

  • How did that turn out? Did you file charges? Did they drop the charges?

  • "I was actually filming the fact that you were doing a good job." lol RESIST!

  • I strongly suggest not to "resist" arrest, it gives the police an excuse to crack your skull. The full quote, which got cut at the end, was:

"I was actually filming the fact that you were doing a good job, til now."
