I have studied with Vladimir Vasiliev and trained with Mikhail Ryabko for 13 years. I was one of the first in North America to be a certified teacher under Vladimir. There were two others besides me at the time...My name is George Pogacich
How long are you experienced with systema? Did you train with Konstantin K., Vladimir V., Mikhail R....? And what is your real name please? Are you also an actor?
Excuse me for the curiosity, but I'm very interested in Systema, and what i see in this vid is pretty nice compared with what ive seen before i guess :p
@jrothstein1 everything is done at that pace to show the steps. Try to pull a real knife on this guy or any of the other systema trainers and see what happens. They teach you first rule about knife fighting is you will get cut 100% of the time. If you have never practiced systema or been in a fight with someone who trains systema then you wouldn't know. Most martial arts are practiced slow so your brain learns the movement and it becomes instinctual.
I really don't care what you think but if your keen to find out just drop in a systema class and give the instructor all you can offer him in resisting
But I have to warn you the difference between systema and all the other style you have experince with is the systema player has no desire to finish any one technique.
also, the mind of the systema player seems completely void of desire as well systema strikes will also come at you from angle you never imagined
Systema is great for untrained foes, but against somebody like myself who consistently spars striking full contact as well as wrestles and does no-grappling trumps anybody that only has experience practicing systema. Systema is good but don't be fooled into thinking it can be a substitute for getting in the gym everyday and sparring full contact.
I do have one question though, I would really love to learn Systema, but I live in Minnesota, and the only instructor in Minnesota lives around 2 hours away from me, so i cant do regular lessons, so i was wondering if you know of a way that I can learn without having to drive 2 hours to and from for every lesson?
Truly a pleasure to watch. The ability to adapt to any situation or scenario is what made Bluce Lee such a devistating and effective martial artist. Sir, if you ever find yourself on the west coast, I would be honored to meet a student of Vladimir.
It all depends on your awareness and if you can track the movement from the beginning before it starts. Timing and perception are everything. Nothing lives without it.
Beautiful and effective moves. If I wanted to learn more about Systema do you put on any seminars. I am located in Ann Arbor Michgan and I am a brown belt in Isshinryu Karate. Are there seminars put on by the Systema group based in Toronto.
Wonderful Systema flow. :) I train a few students in Systema as well. I love the control using energy...Very well done. I love how you also move quite like Master Vladimir. Very beautiful. :)
Don't judge a person because of his size..I'm not going to bother explaining it to you on here. It's impossible. you have to feel it and try it and see how much power there is in the smallest move from the right person in order to appreciate this. You will just have to find out for yourself what works and what doesn't work.
@roryforever89 THIS IS SYSTEMA, a martial art that teaches you to be able to adapt to any situation. Vladimir Vasiliev himself said this: "To any situation the reaction may be different. That’s why it’s useless, in a way, to memorize patterns, because the possibilities in life are endless, and you cannot be prepared for every single thing. Therefore it’s better to be able to move in a natural way, and not even physically but intuitively." Some people will be small, some will be big.

If anyone tried these lame passive techniques in a real knife fight, they would DIE. Seriously, use at your own risk of death.

@jrothstein1 i agree. if you want to learn self defense, go to a real gym and do mma or something.

C´mon a small boy with a knife is easy but did you ever watch a prison knife fight ?
Reality check might get you down on the ground. Kicking a knife hand LOL.
