Sir Robin is without doubt one of England's greatest ever sailors. With his background in the British Merchant Navy and the Royal Navy Reserves, he is a genuine, wise, brave patriotic salt!
For me, he is in the league of Drake, Raleigh, Rodney, Nelson and Cook.

Much easier now that you're rich, eh Sir Robin? I'm afraid that although you were an inspiration to me, your namesake, your lifestyle and actions and elitist mentality that you display these days makes me sad.

Sir Robin, we are all so proud of you for braving this voyage once again as the oldest person to sail around the world solo. Your legacy, regardless of how you place in this race, will go down in history as one who has brought pride and respect to both young and old sailors.
I hope to visit you when you arrive in Norfolk, VA. We wish you safe passage around the dreaded Cape Horn!
