  • Catcher that is LOL

  • Umpire for many many years gang...that is so clear. Cather interference is the correct call

  • One question. Why is the blue wearing a protecive shield? What a whimp, can't even take a ball to the stomach. Toughen up.

  • Is that ump someone's Mom? It looks like a housewife!

  • If he did in fact step out of the batter's box it was AFTER he made contact with the ball, so that is not a violation. (Obviously you're allowed to leave the box once you hit the ball, in order to run to first.)

But obviously it was catcher's interference. Not sure how the umpire missed that.

  • From an umpire, first off it was catchers interference that call is correct. And you can barely see the batters box in the video but he does stay in the box and even of his foot would have stepped out of the box he already had catchers interference on it. Once the contact was made with the catchers glove the play is considered dead and runners advance if forced and batter takes 1st, and if only an out if THE BATTER MAKES CONTACT WITH THE BALL WHILE HAVING 1 OR 2 FEET OUTSIDE OF THE BATTERS BOX.

  • First of all to all you morons who don't know the rules and are posting comments. It is not catcher's interference it is called catcher's obstruction!!

The batter gets first base and all runners move up if forced by batter going to 1st.

So to all you morons at ball games that yell interference...the offense creates interference, the defense creates obstruction.

  • @daveumpire Uh, afraid you're the moron here. This is the only time when a play by the defense is called interference. Read your rulebook again.

  • @daveumpire bro shut th fuck up moron?!?! u souch a loser your an umpire guess wat i hate umpire lyk u u probably play mountain ball u dont play baseball so if i was u i would shut your mouth

  • @daveumpire It's MLB Rule 6.08(c) you pedantic ass... INTERFERENCE.

  • its a little league game who gives a fuck if its interference its not like your kid is going to be the next a rod or play for the Yankees its just a game who gives a shit if this is the kind of shit that matters to you a stupid call on a little league game than you need to get a life

  • why are boys playin slow pitch softball? forreal.

  • was this ump retarded

  • Absolutely catcher interference. Bottom line, any ump who still uses a bubble probably shouldn't be umpiring.

  • yes. yes it clearly was

  • @JWilliamson1987 its also probable extra bases.

  • that was interference stupid calls!! i would be pissed if they didnt call that when i was bating.

  • was this supposed to be slow pitch softball?

  • @HEF51 u are stupid!!!! no its a free walk they were trying to get him on base by pitching way outside but the pitcher accidentally pitching it right where the kid can swing at. stupid kid learn what is going on

  • @MoNsTeRxMAFIAx you mean an intentional walk? before you go calling me a kid which im not...know what you're talking about yourself

  • @HEF51 then why did u say slow pitch softball if u know it was that? stupid as fuck!! u trying to be funny? "OH is this slow pitch softball"

  • @MoNsTeRxMAFIAx well to throw an effective intentional walk you might want to throw it the same speed or close to the same speed as any other pitch...not a looping gravity ball that makes the catcher catch it underhand

  • who cares

  • call was irrelevant to outcome of game

  • Catchers interference. Umpire sucks. Batter stayed in the batters box. The kid that yelled catchers interference should have been calling the game.

  • @MrTapcam lol that was a girl. maybe a mom idk.

  • why does it matter. yall were winning 16-0?

  • yes no he stepped out after he hit the ball n when he hit it the catchers glove was in the way so thats interference

  • Thumbs down for your douche-baggery.

  • Catcher interference final bat hit glove catchers glove was in batters box go to first base

  • w/e lol if your seriously making such a big deal over this you have issues... first of all, you won 16-0, why the fuck would you be complaining? Plus, he was being intentionally walked, he's getting first base regardless of what happens... to put this on here complaining is just stupid

  • the same thing happened to me but mine was fair and i got a base hit

  • still catcher interference, bat hit the catcher

  • And yes, that was catcher interference.

  • "We still beat the Dodgers 16-0!"

    Then why are you complaining?

  • @JeffYaddow fag is short for faggot dummy.. and i dont give a shit about ur life. it's ok to be gay, just dont post it all over youtube. fag

  • @JeffYaddow So when you make fun of somebody's grammar it's because you have a past of being illiterate? I called you a fag because only a homo would come up with some weak ass reason to chirp somebody. Now shove it up in ya gay boy

  • @JeffYaddow You made 1 mistake about 25 times. Don't grill someone over grammar dummy. Especially if you make a ton of mistakes yourself. That's just stupid. By the way, I did not realize you have a mental disability. The last time I saw someone batting, I didn't see them wearing a mit! LOL Your a dummy.

  • Okay? He takes a base. If not, they're still going to walk him. Same result, but 1 more pitch.

  • @JeffYaddow the word i is supposed to be capitalized, I. jeffrey, I would throw the ball at your head 100% of the time just to have fun. Now go have homosexually relationships with your boyfriend fag and keep it behind closed doors. Did I mention your a fag? FAG FAG FAG FAG FAG

  • it was catcher interference but by the looks of that swing there aint nobody afraid to pitch to austin lol

  • Easy call ump catcher interference!!!

  • that was a cacthers inerfeainse

  • yep catchers interference

  • damn that sounded like it hurt! damn

  • Why would you be scared to pitch to him?

  • @JeffYaddow By the way i also don't understand why you explained your "skills" of baseball to me. and wow 75 percent of the time? jesus thats not even as good as me bro. so again I DONT FUCKING CARE!!!

  • @JeffYaddow I'm not angry and really epicly? holy shit man...do you know what a vagina is without using a dictionary or internet to look it up? jesus christ its the fucking internet kid. Is your life this pathetic that you have to reply back to my first statement with a smart ass remark? really i dont give a fuck kid just stop while you're ahed because i dont give a fuck about you nor do i care what you say. reason im replying back is so i let you know that i don't give a flying fuck.

  • yeah thats catcher ineterference he makes contact with the bat and he didn't step out of the batters box during the swing he stepped out because of his back swing which is fine and these kids look like they really suck.

  • @JeffYaddow Wow get a fucking life kid.

  • @JeffYaddow Wow u fucking nerd sorry. 3 words what the fuck* there are you happy now?

  • 3 words...wtf?

  • hahah i am a catcher and that catcher is a dumbass

  • this is retarted this league isnt legit, the pitcher cant throw for his life and the batter swung like he was killing somebody

  • This is absolutely catcher's interference...why would you think it isn't? Also, even during a pitch-out, which that was, the batter can still hit the ball as long as its over the plate....and you guys won 16-0 and you were intentionally walking a batter?

  • Parents need to shut the hell up when wathing their kids' games.

  • the ump made a good call the batter wanted to swing at the ball and the catcher got in the way

  • Wow, that foul ball would have made a HUGE difference in the final score of the game!

  • what kind of pitching motion is that? it looks like he is playing catch with the catcher.

  • @Vokloko It look like he was intentionally walking him XD

  • Comment removed

  • LOL WHO GIVES A FUCK? THIS IS LIKE TEABALL LOL

  • the catchers glove was most defiantly in the way, lol it looked like the catcher was trying to take the ball before the batter could hit it. it was catcher interference. and why would you care if you said your team beat them?

  • @kelsielovesyou1503 How in any way does that relate to my post from 10 months ago?!

  • That was a good call, the catcher should have put his hand over home plate..

  • yea catcher interference......he moved his hand infront of home plate to ceatch the ball I mean hello!

  • WHO GIVES A SHIT!!!!!

He was being intentionally walked anyway. Either way he would be awarded first base.

It cracks me up "IT"S CATCHERS INTERFERENCE!!!!" and all the arguing. over this meaningless call. It would be different if he wasting being walked from the get go.

  • usually, when you intentoinally walk someone, you pitch it off to the side. as you can see, he tosses it right down the pipe, and the catcher reaches for the ball.

  • 7. What the hell is this

  • 6. Why is this kid getting intentionally walked

  • 6. who the hell gives a shit...

  • yes

  • im an ump. catcher interference all the way. he hit his glove off!!

  • I know this kid he is my brother, he hit a Homerun earlier that game so thats why they pitched around him. way to criticize 11 year old rec baseball

  • For those of you PARENTS who don't know rules!!! Please read below, as Bluesteve explains. The Umpire whether you people like it or not WAS CORRECT!! This is Catchers Interference. Whether Little League or Professional, This rule is the same. Awesome Job Umpire. Now Loose the outside protector and work on that voice, Otherwise... Great Job!!

  • Is this baseball or slowpitch softball?

  • lol 0:14 he sucks why would they pitch around. 0:18 the woman sounds retarted. 0:19 I thought that was a girl.

  • do they not know how to play baseball?

  • these kids suckl

  • If the mitt comes off the glove. Unless the kid is bringing some heat, 9/10 it's catchers Obstruction

  • @buddaman200522 obstruction is on the offense

  • @russiaCANT No interference is on the offense which causes the ball to be dead immedially. Obstruction is the on the defense and it's a delay dead ball. if the kid would hit a home run, the coach has the option to take the play or award the catchers obstruction.

  • @russiaCANT Interference is on the offense. Obstruction is on the defense.

  • @buddaman200522 in this case if the bat of the batter in any way touches the catcher or the catchers mitt it is "Catcher Interference" batter is awarded 1st. base

  • id be scared to pitch to austin too......

  • wow what a nasty sinker by the pitcher

  • why are the tee ball kids playing on the big field?

  • why are the tee ball kids balling on the big field?

  • catcher is damn horrible

  • yeah.. umpires who use the bloons (nowadays) are usually not good.. especially when they don't know the rules like this guy just said when he thought the kid stepped out of the batters box lol.. thats a good question tho.. what does happen if u have a catchers interference AND a foot out of the batters box o_O (which was almost the case here)

  • It's catcher interference

  • he does step out of the batters box

  • @nick09270 no he doesn't lol he swung and hit the ball already.. which after the ball is already in play or out play the batter can do w/e the hell he pleases.. and the rule for that is u have to have a WHOLE foot outside the batters box.. if ur big toe is still in the batters box.. then ur still classified as being in the batters box but the coach is right lol if he did step out of the batters box he would be out..

  • @gypsycabs Depending on what rule code you are using, catcher's interference would be the correct call in OBR, LL, and NCAA codes. In NFHS, it would be catcher's obstruction. Penalties in all codes are the same, though.

  • @Bluesteve32 I'm pretty sure you're wrong. A quick Google of those league's rules shows they're the same as all other leagues; Offensive players INTERFERE, Defensive players OBSTRUCT.

  • @gypsycabs gypsy ur a moron.catchers interference is one of those golden exceptions to the rules.. theres always exceptions to the rules.. a catcher is interfering with a play.. he isn't obstructing any1 from going anywhere.. he is interfering with a play that could have happened if it never happened.. an obstruction is just when some1 in in the way of some1 else getting to a base like a wall that's obstructing some1s view...

  • @curveballmick Judging by your grammar you've never picked up a book before, so let me see if I can dumb it down to your level. According to the rules, defensive teams OBSTRUCT and offensive teams INTERFERE. Since a catcher is a DEFENSIVE player, the rules violation in this case would be OBSTRUCTION. There is no such thing as DEFENSIVE INTERFERENCE. If that doesn't help you, go find a 2nd grader to explain it to you. Of course, I am the one who is a moron though, right? "Golden exceptions??" Ha!

  • @gypsycabs picking up a book and proving u that u are in idiot.. i have a rule book in my hand right now.. Definition of interference (a) offensive interference is act by offensive team that interferes, obstructs, impedes, hinders or confuses any fielder temping to make a play. (b) DEFENSIVE interference is act by a IFIELDER which hinders or prevents a batter from hitting a pitch. (c) umpires interference umpire hinders or prevents catchers throw.. or gets hit with bated ball etc... -.-

  • @curveballmick It's a relief that you can read. I'd love to know what book you stumbled upon.

  • @gypsycabs hence CATCHERS interference is a DEFENSIVE interference.. ty very much or check rule 6.08 (c) the batter is entitled to first base without liability to be put out IF catcher or any fielder INTERFERES with batter...

  • @gypsycabs little league rule book.. always carry one with me when i go to games.. don't feel horrible.. u arn't the only one who would confuse that rule.. and others confuse the other annoying rule of the foul ball vs foul tip as well.. even announcers and coaches don't know the difference between it lol btw that rule is little different in little league than it would be at college and mlb..

  • @curveballmick I do believe you didn't cut and paste given the spelling errors in your post, but I'd still like to see you link to an official body's rules. I'm mostly a softball guy, in which case the catcher can NEVER INTERFERE, only OBSTRUCT, but from what I've found it carries over into these leagues as well, save some goofy district rules put together by local boards. I'd also love to hear your explanation of "one of those golden exceptions." What the hell did you mean by that?!?

  • @gypsycabs thats why u play softball quick pitch or arch? i gave rules that go around US that are used during the williamsport world series games that u can see on tv they arn't local league flimsy rules and a catcher can obstruct to by being in the base path w/o the ball i wish i could send u the rule book unfortunantely won't let me look at the rules becuz im not subscribed and golden rules meaning like catchers interference something u wouldn't think exsists but does weird stupid rules

  • @gypsycabs Ever read a real rule book?

    OBR 2.00 INTERFERENCE

    (b) Defensive interference is an act by a fielder which hinders or prevents a batter

from hitting a pitch." Also check 6.08c and 6.08c Comment.

Little League's rule is identical and also numbered as 2.00 Interference (b) as well as 6.08c.

NFHS, also known as "Federation" or FED (high school rules), uses "catcher's obstruction" as its terminology and is 2-22-1 and 8-1-1e.

NCAA also uses interference. Don't argue with an ump.

  • Defensive players don't "interfere." I've never heard of catcher interference. Obstruction maybe, but not interference.

  • @gypsycabs their is such a thing of catcher interferance

  • @grant1500 FALSE! Offensive players interfere, defensive players obstruct. I was half kidding, half being a nitpicker with my comment. But I do believe all of you who are calling for interference should at least get this basic terminology down before trying to play umpire. If there is a rule violation against the catcher, it's OBSTRUCTION, not interference.

  • i would say catcher interference, since it happened first

  • ok first of all umpires that listen to the crowd are total douche bags and second, who gives a rats ass about a girls softball game?

  • why would they be scared to pitch to austin? with a swing like that? i doubt it

  • lol im 13 and ive played catcher for 2 seasons and i have NEVER called for an intentional walk... i dont plan on it either

  • everyone sucks the pitcher, catcher, ump, batter

  • everyone involved in this play sucks.

  • Don't be cruel you guys, Special Olympics is not a laughing matter.

  • ? for Raleigh Cubs. Why is it not catchers interference? Rule interpretation please.

  • whats the problem??? its catchers interference

  • Of course it was a terrible pitch these kids are like 10 years old.... Honestly WHO CARES just play the game for the fun of it! One missed call in a stupid rec league doesn't matter. I swear everyone parent in Raleigh that has kids that play baseball are fucking retarded. Some asshole was raging to the ump for 20 minutes because his douche bag son got thrown out.

  • Catcher interference. And if that's your kid at the plate..........he'snot too smart for swinging at that garbage.

  • terrible call and tht guy batting sucks for even swinging

  • 2 things i gotta say.

1 a pitch out goes OUT away from the plate.... not over it.....

2 what kind of stance is that?

  • ummm he hit the catchers glove which IS interference

  • its nice they let retards play baseball too

  • cardinals sweet and i agree cardinalfan4678

  • YES learn the game of baseball before you post stupid shit like this.

  • omg his hand came off!!!!

  • @dtasteucanc your point is ?

  • The umpires cannot be expected to watch the whole game.

  • catcher interference. that's all i have to say.

  • THAT WAS TOTAL CATCHER INTERFERENCE GOSHH STUPID UMPIRE HE STEPPED INTO THE ZONE OF HITTING WOW I SHOULD KNOW THAT IMA A CATCHER

  • i saw his glove come off.(OUCH) But since that happend it is interference.

  • As an umpire say, MY GOODNESS, this is little league! Who cares! It is difficult to see everything, particularly batters stepping out of the batters box - when working the two-man system. You're looking for balks (not sure if that applies to this age group, depending on the outcome scenario), and many other things. Trust me, for the $50.......

  • i love how the ump is shorter than the players

  • dude can this pitcher seriously not intentionally walk a guy? god just throw the ball way outside..he almost nailed him in the head oon the second pitch

  • tht kid sucks at baseball they look like the are retarded. who cares if its a bad call its not like those kids will ever go pro

  • the worst boo-ing sound ever....my ears are bleeding...

  • CATCHER INTERFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Its coming right to the kid. i woulda swung too. the hitter shouldnt have to pay attention to the catcher.

  • This is interference numb nut

  • why is it that all umps are retarded pilllsberry doughboys?

  • Comment removed

  • 1: Terrible swing by the kid (what the heck is he doing with his front foot?)

2: Pitcher is an idiot and can't throw the ball

3: Catcher is an idiot for reaching out for the ball

    4: The umpire sucks balls

5: I thought this was girl's softball at first

  • @cardinalfan4678 dude they are kids they are still learning the game, they arent going to be any good, second the ump is not helping them learn the game by blowing the call

  • @cardinalfan4678 he hit a homerun before this, thats why they were throwing to him like that

  • @cardinalfan4678 and its a rec league lol

  • @cardinalfan4678 plus his foot doesnt usually go like that it was the bat once the bat hits his glove it jerks

  • @cardinalfan4678 Theyre throwing to him because they dont want him to score..They usually do that when theyve hit multiple good hits that game...Usually a homerun or two...

  • @cardinalfan4678 Theyre throwing to him like that because they dont want him to score..They usually do that when theyve hit multiple good hits that game...Usually a homerun or two...He was being intentionally walked..DUH

  • i am bother by this cause i am an umpire what the hell is wrong with these umpire damm!!!!!! where they get these people from, from the streets. nd whats up with that shield look like he going to war or something wha an IDIOT...

  • I-N-T-E-R-F-E-R-E-N-C-E

  • It's called Catcher's Obstruction. Interference is when an offensive player interferes with the ability of a defensive player to make a play.

So it is not a terrible call on Catcher's Interference, since there is no such thing!

  • interference

  • You wanna know how hard it is to call catchers interference behind he plate? It's the LAST thing you're looking for. I understand how obvious this was, but as an umpire I have seen a kids glove come off without the bat being swung

  • Fuck his glove came off, of course its a bad call.

  • yes that is catcher interference. the catcher put his glove in the swinging path of the batter. no doubt that is interference.

  • yup

  • catchers interference

  • out steped out of the batters box

  • @blackjacket111 your dumb

  • this is clearly interference! The catcher tried to catch the ball the batter was hitting. What is the guy talking about the kid being out of the batter's box? He was in there the whole time!

  • Interference all day - was in the box when he made contact

  • not interference

  • NICE shield blue....

  • im confused, they were intentionally walking the kid with possibly the worst swing in the history of baseball, now i know this is little league, but that was weird, i have worked with kids this age and that swing was just weirdly bad

  • interference

  • The ump was to busy watching that terrible swing to see the interferance

  • interference.

  • he was in the box the catcher stepped up before the swing, batter stepped back after
